Si‐Doped Nanocrystalline Diamond as Highly Sensitive Luminescence Thermometer for the Physiological Temperature Range

In this work, diamonds with negative charged silicon‐vacancy (SiV−) centers have been designed for use as thermometers in biomedical applications. Multiparametric analysis of the emission characteristics of the SiV− centers provides extraordinary sensitivity for temperature detection in the physiological temperature range.

An instrument for measuring coating thickness and geometric dimensions

The spectra confirmed the efficiency of this method. Peaks determining the coating thickness require virtually no correctoin for the background or superposition of pulses from side reactions, inevitable in the operation of radiation thickness measurers of other types.
