Inspection Strategies and Multiple Geometric Tolerances

open access: yesProcedia CIRP, 2013
AbstractRecent years have seen an increase in the adoption of geometric tolerances. It is often possible to find several geometric tolerances defined on a single part. However, this poses inspection issues: the values of the geometric error may be interrelated; therefore, the presence of multiple tolerances should be considered in inspection design. In

Lipopolysaccharide uptake is augmented in lipopolysaccharide‐tolerant mouse macrophage‐like cells via increased CD14 expression

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
In normal (nontolerant) cells, CD14 is crucial for both LPS uptake and LPS signaling. In LPS‐tolerant cells, in which LPS‐induced TNF‐α and IFN‐β production is suppressed, there is a dramatic increase in surface CD14 expression. The overexpressed CD14 in LPS‐tolerant cells is responsible for the enhanced LPS uptake without inducing pro‐inflammatory ...

Approach to Predict Geometric Errors for Machine Tools’ Guideways Based on Tolerance

open access: yes工程科学与技术, 2020
In the initial design stage of machine tools, only the information of tolerance of machine tools’ key components is known. Since geometric errors of machine tools can play the role of guidance for the accuracy design of machine tools, geometric errors ...

A Hybrid Tolerance Design Method for the Active Phased-Array Antenna

open access: yesApplied Sciences, 2020
With the increase of the working frequency of the array antenna, tolerance design has become increasingly important. The state-of-art tolerance design methods mainly deal with the position tolerance of the discrete elements. However, the geometric errors

Fault-Tolerant Additive Weighted Geometric Spanners [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
Let S be a set of n points and let w be a function that assigns non-negative weights to points in S. The additive weighted distance d_w(p, q) between two points p,q belonging to S is defined as w(p) + d(p, q) + w(q) if p \ne q and it is zero if p = q. Here, d(p, q) denotes the (geodesic) Euclidean distance between p and q. A graph G(S, E) is called a t-

Temporal Interference Stimulation of Centromedian‐Parafascicular Complex in Disorders of Consciousness: A Pilot Study

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective Treatment of disorders of consciousness (DoC) remains a major clinical challenge, and noninvasive, targeted modulation of deep brain structures has emerged as a promising therapeutic strategy. We aimed to evaluate the feasibility/safety and preliminary effects of thalamic temporal interference stimulation (TIS) targeting centromedian‐

The tolerance balancing optimization with multiple constraints on the form and function of the discrete functional surface

open access: yesScientific Reports
The working performance of the discrete functional surface is affected by the surface form. Both the surface form and the geometric function should be considered in tolerance design.

A Tolerance Specification Automatic Design Method for Screening Geometric Tolerance Types

open access: yesApplied Sciences
At present, the automatic generation of tolerance types based on rule-based reasoning has an obvious characteristic: for the same assembly feature, tolerance items are recommended that satisfy all feature characteristics, with a large number of ...

Variable Stiffness Flexure Structures Enabled by Phase‐Change Gallium and Adhesive Interfacial Locking for Soft Robotic Applications

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
A flexure‐based variable stiffness structure is developed by integrating phase‐change modulation and adhesive interfacial locking of gallium. The design enables a wide stiffness variability, transitioning from soft, flexible behavior to rigid, load‐supporting performance.

A Numerical–Experimental Approach for Multi‐Matrix Fiber‐Reinforced Plastics Characterization Using Finite Element Model Updating

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
A numerical–experimental framework is developed for characterizing multi‐matrix fiber‐reinforced polymers (MM‐FRPs) combining epoxy and polyurethane matrices. Harmonic bending tests are integrated with finite element model updating (FEMU) to simultaneously identify elastic and viscoelastic material parameters.
