A Geometric Model for Stochastic Automata
IEEE Transactions on Computers, 1974This paper is concerned with the problem of equivalence and dominance relations between sequential stochastic machines. We first introduce the transition output stochastic automaton together with the notion of pseudoautomaton. In Section III, we establish some fundamental properties concerning the rank of a stochastic automaton.

A Geometric Model for Cortical Magnification
2000A Riemannian manifold endowed with a conformal metric is proposed as a geometric model for the cortical magnification that characterises foveal systems. The eccentricity scaling of receptive fields, the relative size of the foveola, as well as the fraction of receptive fields involved in foveal vision can all be deduced from it.

Summary: A class of nonlinear \(\sigma\)-models coupled to gravity is defined by identifying the coordinates of spacetime with the components of a set of scalar fields. The obtained theories have purely geometric character and necessarily possess soliton solutions with topologically nontrivial scalar sectors.
