DFT‐Assisted Approach to Low‐Temperature Graphene Growth on Sapphire

open access: yesSmall, EarlyView.
The crystallographic orientation of sapphire strongly affects low‐temperature plasma‐enhanced chemical vapor deposition graphene growth. Experiments combined with density functional theory reveal that surface oxygen coordination governs carbon adsorption and nucleation: lower‐coordinated sites on a‐plane sapphire promote rapid growth, while higher ...

Surface Defects in Magic‐Sized (CdSe)13 Clusters: A Combined Optical and Theoretical Approach

open access: yesSmall Structures, EarlyView.
Due to the small number of only 26 atoms, magic‐sized (CdSe)13 clusters enable the investigation of the optical fingerprints of single surface defects. At low temperatures, photoluminescence experiments reveal an excitonic emission and a broad, redshifted polaron emission.

Refractory GERD

open access: yesNeuroGastroLATAM Reviews
Persistent symptoms despite two months of optimal treatment with a proton pump inhibitor in a patient with history of documented gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) is considered the definition of refractory GERD. The terms “refractory reflux-like symptoms,” and “refractory GERD” are not synonymous and may represent different types of patients ...

Ligation‐Assisted Antireflux Mucosectomy on PPI‐Dependent and Cardioesophageal Sphincter Relaxed GERD: 4 Years Results of a Prospective, Multicenter Study (With Video)

open access: yesUnited European Gastroenterology Journal, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objectives Gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) is a prevalent gastrointestinal condition and ligation‐assisted antireflux mucosectomy (ARMS‐L) which is a modified ARMS procedure that combines mucosa ligation and endoscopic mucosectomy was evaluated as an effective and safe endoscopic procedure.
