Gestating sows’ feeding behaviour with precision feeding

2020
Precision feeding (PF) of gestating sows, with the individual and daily mixing of two diets with different nutrient content was previously reported to reduce protein intake, feed costs and environmental losses compared to a conventional single diet feeding (CF).

Development of precision feeding strategies for gestating sows

2022
In sows’ conventional feeding (CF), diets composition is usually based on the average herd’s nutrient requirements. Thus, sows can be under- or over- fed leading to extra feed costs and environmental losses. Nutritional models and new technology (sensors, automatons), bring opportunities to measure and integrate the individual variability into nutrient

Effect of sudden noises on gestating sows’ behaviour

2021
Previous results on fattening pigs have shown that noise induced behavioural changes and an increase in stress hormone levels. Based on EU Directive (2008), a threshold of 85 dB is required for pig farming in the EU and sudden noises should be avoided.

Biochemical diagnostics of hepatodystrophy in sows during gestation

Far Eastern Agrarian Herald
The article presents information on changes in the biochemical composition of blood in sows of different ages (previously unproduced – with one farrowing; with two or three farrowings; with four or more farrowings) and different gestation periods (30; 60 and 90 days).
