Giant Radio Sources [PDF]

open access: yes, 1999
We present multi-frequency VLA observations of two giant quasars, 0437-244 and 1025-229, from the Molonglo Complete Sample. These sources have well-defined FRII radio structure, possible one-sided jets, no significant depolarization between 1365 and 4935

Stability of giant vortices in quantum liquids

open access: yes, 2004
We show how giant vortices can be stabilized in strong external potential Bose-Einstein condensates. We illustrate the formation of these vortices thanks to the relaxation Ginzburg-Landau dynamics for two typical potentials in two spatial dimensions. The

Inpatient Food Insecurity and Pediatric Hematology Oncology Hospitalization Outcomes

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Children with cancer and blood disorders are at risk for food insecurity (FI). We aimed to describe the association of inpatient food insecurity (IFI) and hospitalization outcomes among patients admitted to the pediatric hematology oncology service. Of 325 caregivers screened for IFI, 60 (18.6%) screened positive.

Dietary microbiota-mediated shifts in gut microbial ecology and pathogen interactions in giant pandas (Ailuropoda melanoleuca)

open access: yesCommunications Biology
The impact of dietary microorganisms on host microbiota is recognized, but the underlying mechanisms remain unclear. This study examined the effects of bamboo surface microbiota, including virulence factors, antibiotic resistance genes (ARGs), and mobile

In situ molecular organization and heterogeneity of the Legionella Dot/Icm T4SS

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We present a nearly complete in situ model of the Legionella Dot/Icm type IV secretion system, revealing its central secretion channel and identifying new components. Using cryo‐electron tomography with AI‐based modeling, our work highlights the structure, variability, and mechanism of this complex nanomachine, advancing understanding of bacterial ...

Cell wall target fragment discovery using a low‐cost, minimal fragment library

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
LoCoFrag100 is a fragment library made up of 100 different compounds. Similarity between the fragments is minimized and 10 different fragments are mixed into a single cocktail, which is soaked to protein crystals. These crystals are analysed by X‐ray crystallography, revealing the binding modes of the bound fragment ligands.

Potential therapeutic targeting of BKCa channels in glioblastoma treatment

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This review summarizes current insights into the role of BKCa and mitoBKCa channels in glioblastoma biology, their potential classification as oncochannels, and the emerging pharmacological strategies targeting these channels, emphasizing the translational challenges in developing BKCa‐directed therapies for glioblastoma treatment.

Finite-Size Dyonic Giant Magnons in TsT-transformed $AdS_5\times S^5$

open access: yes, 2010
We investigate dyonic giant magnons propagating on $\gamma$-deformed $AdS_5\times S^5$ by Neumann-Rosochatius reduction method with a twisted boundary condition.

Holographic three-point functions of giant gravitons [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
Working within the AdS/CFT correspondence we calculate the three-point function of two giant gravitons and one pointlike graviton using methods of semiclassical string theory and considering both the case where the giant gravitons wrap an S^3 in S^5 and ...
