Influence of length and measurement geometry on magnetoimpedance in La0.7Sr0.3MnO3

open access: yes, 2009
We show that ac magnetoresistance at room temperature in La0.7Sr0.3MnO3 is extremely high (= 47% in H = 100 mT, f = 3-5 MHz), and magnetic field dependence of reactance exhibits a double peak behavior.

A Magnetoelastic Twist on Magnetic Noise: The Connection with Intrinsic Nonlinearities

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, Volume 34, Issue 9, February 26, 2024.
Magnetoelastic nonlinearity significantly limits the performance of devices that use ferromagnetic films as sensitive elements. By introducing a comprehensive theory of magnetic noise in sensor systems, previously unrecognized noise sources linked to magnetoelasticity are revealed.

Giant magneto-impedance sensor with working point selfadaptation for unshielded human bio-magnetic detection

open access: yesVirtual Reality & Intelligent Hardware, 2022
Background: Compared with traditional biomagnetic field detection devices, such as superconducting quantum interference devices (SQUIDs) and atomic magnetometers, only giant magnetoimpedance (GMI) sensors can be applied for unshielded human brain ...

Modeling of asymmetric giant magnetoimpedance in amorphous ribbons with a surface crystalline layer

open access: yes, 2005
A model describing the asymmetric giant magnetoimpedance (GMI) in field-annealed amorphous ribbons is proposed. It is assumed that the ribbon consists of an inner amorphous core and surface hard magnetic crystalline layers.

Development of Magnetic Microwires for Magnetic Sensor Applications

open access: yesSensors, 2019
Thin magnetic wires can present excellent soft magnetic properties (with coercivities up to 4 A/m), Giant Magneto-impedance effect, GMI, or rectangular hysteresis loops combined with quite fast domain wall, DW, propagation.

Phenomenological theory of the giant magnetoimpedance of composite wires

open access: yes, 2012
Composite wires with a three-layered structure are known to show a particularly large magnetoimpedance effect. The wires consist of a highly conductive core, an insulating layer and an outer ferromagnetic shell.

Circumferential single-mode domain uniform magnetization in metallic glass wires reduces magnetic noise of GMI sensor

open access: yesMaterials Research Letters
The evolution of magnetic domains in metallic glass microwires (MGWs) plays a critical role in minimizing magnetic noise in giant magnetoimpedance (GMI) sensors.

Fluxgate: Tuned vs. Untuned Output [PDF]

open access: yes, 1998
Fluxgate voltage output contains information about the measured DC magnetic field in amplitude of even harmonic components. Tuning the sensor output causes the concentration of output energy to specific harmonics (usually 2f) and parametric amplification.
