Gigapixel imaging with a novel multi-camera array microscope

open access: yeseLife, 2022
The dynamics of living organisms are organized across many spatial scales. However, current cost-effective imaging systems can measure only a subset of these scales at once.

Computational structured illumination for high-content fluorescent and phase microscopy [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
High-content biological microscopy targets high-resolution imaging across large fields-of-view (FOVs). Recent works have demonstrated that computational imaging can provide efficient solutions for high-content microscopy.

Capturing and viewing gigapixel images [PDF]

open access: yesACM Transactions on Graphics, 2007
We present a system to capture and view "Gigapixel images": very high resolution, high dynamic range, and wide angle imagery consisting of several billion pixels each. A specialized camera mount, in combination with an automated pipeline for alignment, exposure compensation, and stitching, provide the means to acquire Gigapixel images with a standard ...

Gigapixel multispectral microscopy

open access: yesOptica, 2015
Understanding the complexity of cellular biology often requires capturing and processing an enormous amount of data. In high-content drug screens, each cell is labeled with several different fluorescent markers and frequently thousands to millions of cells need to be analyzed in order to characterize biology’s intrinsic variability.

Gigapixel Imaging and Photogrammetry: Development of a New Long Range Remote Imaging Technique

open access: yesRemote Sensing, 2012
The use of terrestrial remote imaging techniques, specifically LiDAR (Light Detection And Ranging) and digital stereo-photogrammetry, are widely proven and accepted for the mapping of geological structure and monitoring of mass movements. The use of such

Neural Image Compression for Gigapixel Histopathology Image Analysis [PDF]

open access: yesIEEE Transactions on Pattern Analysis and Machine Intelligence, 2021
We propose Neural Image Compression (NIC), a two-step method to build convolutional neural networks for gigapixel image analysis solely using weak image-level labels. First, gigapixel images are compressed using a neural network trained in an unsupervised fashion, retaining high-level information while suppressing pixel-level noise.
