A neutron microscope using a nested Wolter‐I condenser and a bank of diffractive–refractive achromatic objectives

open access: yesJournal of Applied Crystallography, Volume 59, Issue 4, Page 1282-1293, August 2026.
A neutron microscope is presented comprising a Wolter‐I nested mirror optic as condenser and a 2D array of neutron achromats as objective. We present a nested Wolter‐I mirror design for a neutron condenser, which is based on established X‐ray telescope technology.

Paired CycleGAN‐based virtual staining for 3D X‐ray histology of bone‐implant systems

open access: yesJournal of Synchrotron Radiation, Volume 33, Issue 4, Page 1110-1125, July 2026.
This work demonstrates virtual staining for 3D X‐ray histology using a modified CycleGAN trained on paired synchrotron radiation microtomography (SR‐µCT) and histology images of bone‐implant specimens. The method enables the generation of artificially coloured contrast resembling conventional histological staining from label‐free SR‐µCT data and is ...

PANDA: A Gigapixel-Level Human-Centric Video Dataset [PDF]

open access: yes2020 IEEE/CVF Conference on Computer Vision and Pattern Recognition (CVPR), 2020
We present PANDA, the first gigaPixel-level humAN-centric viDeo dAtaset, for large-scale, long-term, and multi-object visual analysis. The videos in PANDA were captured by a gigapixel camera and cover real-world scenes with both wide field-of-view (~1 square kilometer area) and high-resolution details (~gigapixel-level/frame). The scenes may contain 4k

Biomechanics‐Driven 3D Architecture Inference from Histology Using CellSqueeze3D

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 13, Issue 10, 18 February 2026.
CellSqueeze3D reconstructs 3D cellular architecture from standard 2D histology images using biomechanical constraints and optimization. Validated on clinical datasets, it enables accurate tissue phenotyping, predicts gene mutations, and reveals significant correlations between nuclear‐cytoplasmic ratio entropy and tumor progression.
