ESCRT‐Mimetic Nanodegrader Targets STING for Anti‐Inflammatory Therapy

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A nanoplatform‐enabled targeted protein degradation strategy is presented to regulate aberrant STING signaling. STING‐ATTEC induces selective autophagic degradation of STING via formation of a STING–ATTEC–LC3 ternary complex, while the cationic FA‐LNP+ system enhances LC3 generation and targeted delivery. Together, this synergistic approach efficiently

Stromal control of oncogenic traits expressed in response to the overexpression of GLI2, a pleiotropic oncogene. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
Hedgehog signaling is often activated in tumors, yet it remains unclear how GLI2, a transcription factor activated by this pathway, acts as an oncogene. We show that GLI2 is a pleiotropic oncogene.

Oral Motion‐Powered Smart Dental Implant Abutment for In Situ Antibacterial and Cell Adhesion Through Piezoelectric Effect

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
We proposed a method based on the piezoelectric effect and fabricated an implant abutment on the basis of piezoelectric ceramic. Under physiological occlusal pressure, the oral motion‐powered smart dental implant abutments interacted with water and oxygen, promoting the formation of reactive oxygen species and achieving a synergistic and highly ...

Hyperlipidemia Aggravates Alveolar Bone Loss via Periodontal Ligament Stem Cell Ferroptosis Through GSK3β Dependent Ubiquitin‐Mediated NRF2 Degradation

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Lipid metabolic stress triggers ferroptosis in PDLSCs through the GSK3β/NRF2 pathway, thereby aggravating periodontal bone loss. Upregulated GSK3β promotes NRF2 ubiquitination and proteasomal degradation via β‐TrCP, suppressing NRF2 nuclear translocation and antioxidant target expression.

Comparison of gingival and periodontal phenotype classification methods and phenotype-related clinical parameters: cross-sectional observational study

open access: yesBMC Oral Health
Background The aim of this study was to assess gingival and periodontal-phenotype by using Standard-Periodontal-Probing (SPP), Colored-Periodontal-Probing (CPP), and Cone-Beam-Computed-Tomography (CBCT) in comparison to gold standard transgingival ...

Kidney Hematopoietic Stem and Progenitor Cells Contribute to Myeloid Development and Pathology in Lupus Nephritis

open access: yesArthritis &Rheumatology, EarlyView.
Objective The hematopoietic system maintains homeostasis by balancing myeloid and lymphoid cell production in the bone marrow (BM). In response to increased hematopoietic demand, extramedullary hematopoiesis (EMH) may occur in nonlymphoid organs. We investigated the role of EMH and kidney‐resident hematopoietic stem and progenitor cells (HSPCs) in ...

Positional stability of the periodontal tissues following crown lengthening surgery

open access: yesDentistry Review, 2022
Objectives: Functional and esthetic crown lengthening surgery (CLS) is one of the most common surgical procedures in periodontal practice. The healing time necessary to achieve stable periodontal tissues, including the supracrestal gingival tissue (SGT ...
