Spatio-temporal distribution of off-shore ships in the Pars Special Economic Energy Zone based on satellite imagery [PDF]

open access: yesEnvironmental Resources Research, 2019
Special Economic Zones (SEZs) are areas controlled by specific legislations so as toattain economic prosperity. These zones are commonly established and controlled bygovernment officials and are primarily characterized by growing population and ...

Development of Multilayer-Based Map Matching to Enhance Performance in Large Truck Fleet Dispatching

open access: yesISPRS International Journal of Geo-Information, 2021
Spatial information technology has been widely used for vehicles in general and for fleet management. Many studies have focused on improving vehicle positioning accuracy, although few studies have focused on efficiency improvements for managing large ...

Potts model on infinite graphs and the limit of chromatic polynomials [PDF]

open access: yes, 2002
Given an infinite graph $\GI$ quasi-transitive and amenable with maximum degree $\D$, we show that reduced ground state degeneracy per site $W_r(\GI,q)$ of the q-state antiferromagnetic Potts model at zero temperature on $\GI$ is analytic in the variable 1/q, whenever $|2\D e^3/q|< 1$.

An efficient implementation of graph-based invariant set algorithm for constrained nonlinear dynamical systems [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2022
The graph-based invariant set (GIS) algorithm is a promising set-based technique for computing the largest (with respect to inclusion) control invariant set of general discrete-time nonlinear dynamical systems. However, like other invariant set algorithms for nonlinear systems, the GIS algorithm may require a lot of resources when computing the control

Historical GIS

open access: yes, 2022
The historical GIS is, without any doubt, a powerful means of communication of historical phenomena for the public and also of collecting georeferenceable historical source through crowdsourcing activities, but the complexity of the data model underlying a GIS can also distance the public from understanding the complexity of the phenomena themselves ...

Taurine promotes glucagon‐like peptide‐1 secretion in enteroendocrine L cells

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Taurine, a sulfur‐containing amino acid, is likely taken up by enteroendocrine L cells via the taurine transporter. This process increases the levels of cytosolic ATP. The increase in intracellular Ca2+ concentrations and glucagon‐like peptide‐1 secretion through membrane depolarization is caused by the closure of ATP‐sensitive potassium channels ...

Cell‐free and extracellular vesicle microRNAs with clinical utility for solid tumors

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Cell‐free microRNAs (cfmiRs) are small‐RNA circulating molecules detectable in almost all body biofluids. Innovative technologies have improved the application of cfmiRs to oncology, with a focus on clinical needs for different solid tumors, but with emphasis on diagnosis, prognosis, cancer recurrence, as well as treatment monitoring.

Testing Exhaust Emissions of Plug-In Hybrid Vehicles in Poland

open access: yesEnergies
The article addresses the usage patterns of plug-in hybrid vehicles (PHEVs) under Polish conditions. The conventional approach to operating such vehicles assumes that they are used with a fully charged battery at the start.

KRAS and GNAS mutations in cell‐free DNA and in circulating epithelial cells in patients with intraductal papillary mucinous neoplasms—an observational pilot study

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study demonstrates that KRAS and GNAS mutations are more prevalent in patients with resected intraductal papillary mucinous neoplasms (IPMN) compared to those under clinical surveillance. GNAS mutations significantly differ between the two patient cohorts, indicating that their absence may serve as a potential biomarker to support conservative ...
