Surge of the Bivachny Glacier in 2012–2015
The surge of the Bivachny Glacier that occurred in 2012–2015 is analyzed with the use of photographing performed from International Space Station in 2001–2015 together with data of the satellite monitoring of 1972–2000.

Does Climate Risk Affect Employment Decisions? International Evidence
ABSTRACT This study investigates the effect of climate risk on corporate employment decisions. Using a large sample from 41 countries, we find a positive association between climate risk and underinvestment in labor, notably manifesting as excessive employee layoffs.

Photocatalytic Vanadium‐Mediated Amination of Benzene With Hydroxylamine
Photochemical activation of N‐phenylphenothiazine (PPT) enables a selective direct benzene amination with hydroxylamine in the presence of various vanadium catalysts under mild reaction conditions. Spectroscopic and kinetic analyses identify a key vanadium(IV)‐hydroxylamine intermediate, elucidate the crucial roles of the acidic medium, the ...

Utilising seismic station internal GPS for tracking surging glacier sliding velocity
Glacier ice flux is a key indicator of mass balance; therefore, accurate monitoring of ice dynamics is essential. Satellite-based methods are widely used for glacier velocity measurements but are limited by satellite revisit frequency.

Glaciers as an Important Element of the World Glacier Monitoring Implemented in Svalbard
Glaciers are not only contributors to the sea level rise but also important players in the circulation of pollutants. Over a billion people apply glacial waters for domestic purposes; hence, both the quality and quantity of this water should be monitored.

On the Reaction Mechanism of Nitrate Radical and DMPO in Non‐aqueous Photocatalytic Media
This work identifies 2‐oxo‐5,5‐dimethyl‐1‐pyrroline 1‐oxyl (DMPOX), formed via the selective oxidation of 5,5‐dimethyl‐1‐pyrroline N‐oxide (DMPO) by nitrate radicals (NO3•) in nonaqueous media, as a distinctive EPR fingerprint of NO3•. The DFT‐supported mechanism clarifies its formation pathway and highlights DMPOX detection as a robust tool for ...

Human-caused climate change in United States national parks and solutions for the future [PDF]
Human-caused climate change has exposed the US national park area to more severe increases in heat and aridity than the country as a whole and caused widespread impacts on ecosystems and resources.
