Investigation of Circular Hollow Concrete Columns Reinforced with GFRP Bars and Spirals

open access: yesBuildings, 2023
Glass fiber-reinforced polymer (GFRP) reinforcements are useful alternatives to traditional steel bars in concrete structures, particularly in vertical structural elements such as columns, as they are less prone to corrosion, and impart increasing ...

The Bond Strength of Glass Fiber Reinforced Polymer (GFRP) Reinforcement with Monolith Concrete

open access: yesInternational Journal on Advanced Science, Engineering and Information Technology, 2018
One of the considerations in selecting Glass Fiber Reinforced Polymer (GFRP) as a substitute for conventional reinforcement is its ability against corrosion makes it suitable for structures directly related to land, water, and corrosive areas. In terms of strength, GFRP which has high yield strength is very suitable as a reinforcement to hold the shear

Catechol Derivative‐Based Bioadhesives: Molecular Design for Precision Medical Adhesion

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study utilizes tree‐inspired side‐chain engineering to graft five catechol derivatives onto PVA, systematically revealing how side‐chain length and substituents regulate adhesion and cohesion properties. Among them, the PVA‐CA patch demonstrates superior tissue adhesion, biocompatibility, and promotes regeneration, establishing a programmable ...

In Situ Electrostatic Charge‐Assisted Wetting for Enhancing Interfacial Strength of Printed Electronics

open access: yesAdvanced Electronic Materials, EarlyView.
This study introduces an in situ electrostatic charge‐assisted wetting method to enhance the interfacial strength of aerosol jet printing. By depositing negative charges on the substrate, the technique improves ink wetting and interfacial properties, achieving up to 85.6% higher interfacial shear strength.
