ABSTRACT This study addresses the influence of fibre architecture on the mechanical properties of vacuum‐infused glass fibre reinforced polymer (GFRP) composites at elevated temperatures (ET). Laminates with three different fibre configurations—unidirectional (UD), bidirectional 0°/90° cross‐ply (BD), and ±45° off‐axis angle‐ply (OA) – were tested in ...

A series of 21 reinforced concrete T- beams of length 1400 mm were cast using normal strength concrete. After 90 days of ageing, the beams were heated to 600°C and 900°C temperatures in an electric furnace. While three control beams were treated at room temperature, eighteen beams were heat damaged.

Evaluation on material behaviors of pultruded glass fiber reinforced polymer (GFRP) laminates [PDF]
Abstract In order to extend the use of pultruded glass fiber reinforced polymer (GFRP) composite materials in civil engineering, a systematic study on pultruded GFRP laminate is important and realistic for the design and construction of GFRP structures in bridge engineering. A practical method to evaluate the fiber volume fractions and the equivalent

Comparison of experimental and model‐predicted erosion rates for carbon fibre‐reinforced polymer (CFRP) and glass fibre‐reinforced polymer (GFRP) under low‐velocity (2 m/s) and at varying angles and sand concentrations (0.0, 0.05, 0.4 g/L). The results demonstrate good agreement between experimental data and model predictions across different erosive ...

Effect of Designed 3D Reinforcement in Mitigating Machining Damage on CFRP Plates
Effect of Edge Tufting on Surface Quality, Damage, and Mechanical Performance in CFRP Machining: A Comparative Topographical and Structural Analysis. ABSTRACT Composite materials made of carbon fiber‐reinforced epoxy (CFRP) are widely used in aerospace fields due to their high strength‐to‐weight ratio. However, due to low out‐of‐plane resistance, these
