Global Bifurcation of Rotating Vortex Patches [PDF]

open access: yesCommunications on Pure and Applied Mathematics, 2019
AbstractWe rigorously construct continuous curves of rotating vortex patch solutions to the two‐dimensional Euler equations. The curves are large in that, as the parameter tends to infinity, the minimum along the interface of the angular fluid velocity in the rotating frame becomes arbitrarily small.

Topology and Material Optimization in Ultra‐Soft Magneto‐Active Structures: Making Advantage of Residual Anisotropies

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Residual magnetization induces pronounced mechanical anisotropy in ultra‐soft magnetorheological elastomers, shaping deformation and actuation even without external magnetic fields. This study introduces a computational‐experimental framework integrating magneto‐mechanical coupling into topology optimization for designing soft magnetic actuators with ...

BACKSLIDING OF DEMOCRACY INSTITUTIONS AND UKRAINIAN PRACTICE IN THE CONDITIONS OF GLOBAL BIFURCATION

open access: yesВісник Харківського національного університету імені В. Н. Каразіна: Серія "Питання політології"
Issues of changes in the activities of the institutions of democracy in the conditions of global shifts are considered, and as a result, the practice of curtailing the principles of its activity is observed.

Global bifurcation of waves

open access: yesManuscripta Mathematica, 1979
In this note it will be shown how a theorem of Alexander [1] and Ize [9] together with computational results of Alexander and Yorke [4] and Alexander and Fitzpatrick [2] may be used to generalize the existence theorem for, and to prove some global results about, certain wave-like solutions of nonlinear systems of partial differential equations.

Stable Protein‐Based G‐Quadruplex‐Derived Supramolecular Bioinks as Tunable ECM‐Mimetic Constructs Assembled by Combining Non‐Covalent and Covalent Strategies

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Harnessing the synergistic interplay of supramolecular self‐assembly, under macromolecular crowding conditions, and enzymatic‐mediated covalent crosslinking toward a stable protein‐based G‐quadruplex‐derived supramolecular bioink. This bioinspired strategy enables the biofabrication of complex and tunable ECM‐mimetic constructs, providing a platform ...

Global Analysis of a Liénard System with Quadratic Damping

open access: yesDiscrete Dynamics in Nature and Society, 2018
In this paper, the global analysis of a Liénard equation with quadratic damping is studied. There are 22 different global phase portraits in the Poincaré disc.

Super‐Resolution Ultrasound Based Cell Tracking With Polymeric Nanobubbles

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
This study presents a super‐resolution ultrasound platform for tracking cells in vivo. Biocompatible polymeric nanobubbles are used as highly echogenic intracellular labels. Following the injection of cells and microbubbles, ultrasound localization microscopy (ULM) can dynamically match the microvascular architecture and individual cell trajectories ...

Stability and Global Hopf Bifurcation Analysis on a Ratio-Dependent Predator-Prey Model with Two Time Delays

open access: yesAbstract and Applied Analysis, 2013
A ratio-dependent predator-prey model with two time delays is studied. By means of an iteration technique, sufficient conditions are obtained for the global attractiveness of the positive equilibrium.

Additive Manufacturing of Patient‐Specific Intracranial Aneurysm Cell Culture Models

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
Patient‐specific intracranial aneurysm models were fabricated using chocolate moulding, 3D printed water‐soluble cores, and direct resin 3D printing. Moulding PDMS around sacrificial cores made of chocolate or 3D printed water‐soluble resin yielded accurate, expandable, and endothelializable models that outperformed resin‐based approaches.

An application of a global bifurcation theorem to the existence of solutions for integral inclusions

open access: yesElectronic Journal of Differential Equations, 2008
We prove the existence of solutions to Hammerstein integral inclusions of weakly completely continuous type. As a consequence we obtain an existence theorem for differential inclusions, with Sturm-Liouville boundary conditions, $$displaylines{ u''
