The Lupus Damage Index Revision Program: Results From the Item Generation and Reduction Phases
Objective A data‐driven and expert/patient consensus‐based project to develop a revised Systemic Lupus International Collaborating Clinics (SLICC)/American College of Rheumatology (ACR) Damage Index (SDI) is under way supported by SLICC, ACR, and the Lupus Foundation of America. Our objective is to report the item generation and reduction phase results

Global IRS-1 phosphorylation analysis in insulin resistance [PDF]
IRS-1 serine phosphorylation is often elevated in insulin resistance models, but confirmation in vivo in humans is lacking. We therefore analysed IRS-1 phosphorylation in human muscle in vivo.We used HPLC-electrospray ionisation (ESI)-MS/MS to quantify IRS-1 phosphorylation basally and after insulin infusion in vastus lateralis muscle from lean healthy,

A unified research data management framework for heterogeneous materials data is presented. The system integrates multimodal datasets using ontologies and knowledge graphs, enabling interoperability and FAIR (findable, accessible, interoperable, reusable) data principles. By linking data across scales and workflows, it supports reproducible, Artifitial

Global optimization for image restoration in optical/IR interferometry [PDF]
Many image reconstruction algorithms have been proposed to cope with optical/IR interferometric data. A first difficulty is to deal with the sparsity of the data and the uneven u-v coverage. This is usually overcome by imposing a priori constraints to the sought image. The reconstruction then amounts to solving an optimization problem where fidelity to

Do not let thermal drift and instrument artifacts deceive high‐temperature nanoindentation results. We compare classical Oliver–Pharr and automatic image recognition analyses across steels and a Ni alloy to quantify these effects. Accounting for artifacts reveals systematic softening with temperature, while Cr and Ni additions boost resistance ...

How to leverage implementation research for equity in global health
Implementation research (IR) is important for addressing equity in global health. However, there is limited knowledge on how to operationalize IR for health equity, and pathways for improving health equity through IR in global health settings. This paper

The present study investigates recycling of NiTi shape memory alloys via vacuum induction melting. An ingot was synthesized from elemental Ni and Ti and subjected to three subsequent remelting cycles. Remelting increases process durations and impurity levels and adversely affects microstructures and functional properties.
