The economics of Kyoto flexible mechanisms: a survey [PDF]
Scientific study has revealed that man-made greenhouse gas emissions are causing global warming. A milestone of international effort for combating global warming was the establishment of the Kyoto Protocol to the United Nations Framework Convention on ...

Bisphenol A (BPA), a common chemical in plastics, exerts dual effects on bladder cancer cells: low doses promote growth and migration, while high doses suppress growth and migration. Multi‐omics and bioinformatics reveal BPA acts via MAPK and inflammatory pathways.

Effect of C2H2F4/CF4O with low global warming potentials on SiNx etching as a CHF3 replacement
As the size of the device continues to decrease due to the increasing demand for faster processing speed and lower power consumption in semiconductor integrated circuit device technology, the double patterning process is widely used.

Standortgerechte Rindfleischproduktion im Schweizer Biolandbau [PDF]
In Switzerland, most of the calves from organic milk production are fattened indoors on conventional farms with concentrates. In this study, we compared organic beef production with two conventional systems in terms of their energy demand and global ...

This study explores the feasibility of expressing the antitumoral protein Amblyomin‐X through a suicide gene therapy approach and investigates its intracellular fate after gene delivery. Although the gene is efficiently expressed, melanoma cells rapidly degrade the Amblyomin‐X protein via proteasome activity.

Evolutionarily divergent DUF4465 domains have a common vitamin B12‐binding function
We show that DUF4465 family proteins, widespread across bacteria from gut microbiomes, hydrothermal vents, and soil, share a common vitamin B12‐binding function. These augmented β‐jellyroll proteins bind vitamin B12 via extended loops. Our findings establish sequence‐diverse DUF4465 proteins as a widespread class of B12‐binding proteins, highlighting ...

Activation of the mitochondrial protein OXR1 increases pSyn129 αSynuclein aggregation by lowering ATP levels and altering mitochondrial membrane potential, particularly in response to MSA‐derived fibrils. In contrast, ablation of the ER protein EMC4 enhances autophagic flux and lysosomal clearance, broadly reducing α‐synuclein aggregates.

On the chemistry of the global warming potential of hydrogen
Hydrogen (H2) is considered a promising fuel to contribute to net-zero carbon emission goals. While hydrogen itself is not a greenhouse gas, leakage of hydrogen fuels causes indirect warming due to hydrogen’s influence on methane, tropospheric ozone, and

What do financial markets reveal about global warming? Working paper series--09-13 [PDF]
Global warming and its importance are controversial. While a variety of estimates exists of the likelihood of global warming and its economic cost, financial market information can provide an objective assessment of expected losses due to global warming.
