Abstract It has been clear for several decades from comparison with the rodent model disease Heymann nephritis that membranous glomerulonephritis (MGN) is an immune condition in which antibodies, usually autoantibodies, bind to targets on the surface of podocytes.

Evolution of antiglomerular basement membrane glomerulonephritis into membranous glomerulonephritis
Pediatric Nephrology, 2007Antiglomerular basement membrane glomerulonephritis (anti-GBM GN) is a rare disease characterized by autoantibodies to the alpha 3 chain of type IV collagen in the GBM. It is also known as Goodpasture's syndrome when associated with pulmonary hemorrhage due to autoantibodies to the alpha 3 chain of type IV collagen also present in pulmonary alveoli ...

Penicillamine Induced Membranous Glomerulonephritis
Scandinavian Journal of Rheumatology, 1975Renal biopsy material from thirty-five patients, who developed glomerulonephritis whilst receiving penicillamine, was studied. All patients had a membranous glomerulonephritis diagnosed either on 0.5 μ silver stained sections or by electron microscopy and occasionally confirmed by immunofluorescence. In 16 cases light microscopy alone of conventional 3

Bucillamine induces membranous glomerulonephritis
American Journal of Kidney Diseases, 2002A variety of renal histopathologic lesions, such as amyloidosis, mesangial proliferative glomerulonephritis, and membranous glomerulonephritis (MGN), are associated with rheumatoid arthritis (RA). Bucillamine (BCL), a disease-modifying antirheumatic drug, has a chemical structure and side-effect profile similar to that of d-penicillamine, which can ...

RECURRENT IDIOPATHIC MEMBRANOUS GLOMERULONEPHRITIS
Transplantation, 1977This study reports the clinical and pathological findings in a patient with recurrent membranous glomerulonephritis following transplantation of an HLA-identical kidney. Such a recurrence has been previously reported only once, although membranous glomerulonephritis is a common cause of nephrotic syndrome in adults.

Membranous Glomerulonephritis and Pregnancy
Obstetrical & Gynecological Survey, 1988The clinical courses of 33 pregnancies in 24 patients with biopsy proven membranous glomerulonephritis have been analyzed. Twenty-four percent (8) of pregnancies resulted in fetal loss, 43% (14) in premature delivery and 33% (11) in a live birth after 36 weeks gestation. Maternal renal function declined during pregnancy in 9% (3) of the pregnancies and

Idiopathic Crescentic Membranous Glomerulonephritis
American Journal of Kidney Diseases, 1986A case of idiopathic crescentic membranous glomerulonephritis is reported. In addition to the present case, eight cases of this type of glomerulonephritis reported in the literature are reviewed. This is an uncommon form of glomerulonephritis, seen in middle age and in both sexes.

[Membranous glomerulonephritis].
Der Internist, 2004Membranous nephropathy remains the most common cause of nephrotic syndrome in adults. The common variant is idiopathic membranous nephropathy with no evidence of any known precipitating factors. Membranous nephropathy also occurs as a secondary form in association with inflammatory or neoplastic diseases.

Membranous glomerulonephritis with crescents
International Urology and Nephrology, 2013The coexistence of membranous glomerulonephritis (MGN) and necrotizing and crescentic glomerulonephritis (NCGN) is an unusual finding in a renal biopsy except in lupus nephritis. Little is known about whether these lesions are causally related in any clinical setting. We reviewed the pathology, presentation, and clinical course of 13 non-lupus patients ...

Membranous Glomerulonephritis and Malignancy
American Journal of Kidney Diseases, 1993The purpose of this review is to enhance the clinical awareness of the association between membranous glomerulonephritis and neoplasia. Controversy has persisted that has tended to minimize this association, therefore, we report our experience to shed some light on this controversy as well as to make diagnostic recommendations.
