Acoustic detection of gunshots to improve measurement and mapping of hunting activity
This study explores the use of passive acoustic monitoring to detect gunshots and map spatial and temporal patterns of hunting activity. Across a three‐month deployment period in a protected area, we detected hundreds of gunshots which revealed distinct hunting rates in different parts of the park and pronounced differences across days of the week.
