Monitoring bioaerosol and odour emissions from composting facilities - WR1121 [PDF]
Government policy requires that valuable resources should be recovered and recycled from biodegradable waste. A successful and growing organics recycling industry delivers this policy with composting being one of the principal technologies deployed to ...

ABSTRACT Objective We previously identified distinct muscle and liver insulin resistance (IR) metabotypes in middle‐aged and older adults. The PERSON study showed that a low‐fat, high‐protein, high‐fiber diet benefits the muscle IR group, while a high‐monounsaturated fatty acid diet benefits the liver IR group. We also developed the MetaboHealth score,

ABSTRACT Starch is the major energy storage compound in plants. It accumulates in the form of insoluble, partly crystalline granules whose number and shape are specific to each plant species. These characteristics are defined very early in starch biosynthesis, at the initiation stage.

Potential of endophytic Beauveria bassiana against Coraebus (Coleoptera: Buprestidae) oak borers
This study demonstrates that an endophytic, oak‐associated strain of Beauveria bassiana exhibits adaptations to Quercus plants and potential against Coraebus boring beetles, supported by distinctive biological traits. Abstract BACKGROUND Oak borers in the genus Coraebus, including the bark‐ and the wood‐boring beetles C. florentinus and C. undatus, are

This article reports the first genome sequence of a UK Alternaria brassicae isolate. Dual RNA‐sequencing profiling of A. brassicae‐infected Brassica juncea leaves identified differentially expressed genes involved in pathogenicity and host response pathways in moderately resistant Sej‐2 (2) and moderately susceptible Pusa Jaikisan cultivars.

ABSTRACT Rationale Hemicelluloses are abundant carbohydrate components in plant cell walls. They play a crucial structural role in binding cellulose microfibrils, in addition to other biological functions. Their high structural variability directly influences their biological properties, making it important to establish a structure–function ...

Functional specialization of the yeast Rho1 GTP exchange factors [PDF]
Rho GTPases are regulated in complex spatiotemporal patterns that may be dependent, in part at least, on the multiplicity of their GTP exchange factors (GEFs).

b-Glucans, as biologically active polysaccharides, have been used for decades but only recently have become a focus of evolutionary studies. As b-glucans are shown to be active in all animal species studied - from earthworms to humans - we can safely conclude that b-glucan immunostimulation is one of the first defensive mechanisms active across the ...
