"Non-Naked" Gold with Glucose Oxidase-Like Activity: A Nanozyme for Tandem Catalysis.

Small, 2018
It has been widely reported that "naked" gold nanoparticles (Au NPs) without protectors have glucose oxidase (GOx)-like activity, and the use of protectors can inhibit the GOx-like activity. Here, "non-naked" Au NPs with GOx-like activity are synthesized

Some studies of glucose oxidase

Archives of Biochemistry and Biophysics, 1961
Abstract A commercial preparation of glucose oxidase is shown to oxidize d -glucose, d -galactose, d -mannose, and d -xylose at relative rates which are pH dependent. The product of these reactions is the corresponding glyconic acid which in each case is identified as the crystalline γ-lactone and amide.

Glucose Oxidase-Polymer Nanogels for Synergistic Cancer-Starving and Oxidation Therapy.

ACS Applied Materials and Interfaces, 2017
Glucose oxidase (GOX) can convert glucose into gluconic acid and hydrogen peroxide (H2O2), which is potentially useful for synergistic cancer-starving and oxidation therapy.

Stainless Steel Electrode for Sensitive Luminol Electrochemiluminescent Detection of H2O2, Glucose, and Glucose Oxidase Activity.

Analytical Chemistry, 2017
Electrogenerated chemiluminescence (ECL) application of stainless steel, a robust and cost-effective material, has been developed for the first time. Type 304 stainless steel electrode shows appealing ECL performance in the luminol-H2O2 system.

Glucose oxidase of Phanerochaete chrysosporium

1988
Publisher Summary Glucose oxidase catalyzes the oxidation of D-glucose to δ-D-gluconolactone and H 2 O 2 in the presence of molecular oxygen. In a subsequent step δ -D-gluconolactone is nonenzymatically hydrolyzed to D-gluconic acid. This enzyme has been demonstrated in various Aspergillus and Penicillium species and has recently been purified ...

Immunologic Properties of Glucose Oxidase

The Journal of Immunology, 1970
Abstract Glucose oxidase, an anzyme obtained from Aspergillus niger, is a potent antigen. Guinea pigs and rabbits immunized with this antigen in complete Freund's adjuvant produced high serum concentrations of precipitating antibody. In addition, heat-inactivated enzyme and apoenzyme can be used to detect cellular immunity in the guinea ...

Laccase/glucose oxidase electrode for determination of glucose

Analytica Chimica Acta, 1986
Abstract The electrode involves a layer of co-immobilized glucose oxidase and laccase in a gelatin membrane placed over a modified oxygen electrode. Hexacyanoferrate(III) is added to the samples to oxidize reductive interferents such as ascorbic acid, and the hexacyanoferrate(II) formed is re-oxidized by a laccase-catalyzed reaction. Ascorbic acid is

Calorimetric Glucose Determination by Glucose Oxidase —Methylene Blue

Acta Biotechnologica, 1982
AbstractThe reaction between glucose and methylene blue, catalyzed by glucose oxidase (GOD)was analysed calorimetrically. The amount of heat produced under saturating methylene blue concentrations ( > 10−2 mol/1)was measured with glucose concentration and time as parameters (kinetic procedure) Kinetic constants (pseudo one substrate kinetics) were ...

Reduction of Glucose Content in Potatoes with Glucose Oxidase [PDF]

open access: possibleJournal of Food Science, 1989
ABSTRACTTwo commercial glucose oxidase preparations, DeeO 1500 and Fermcozyme CBB‐750, were investigated for their activities and use in decreasing glucose levels in Norland and Shepody potatoes. When DeeO was added at 0.01% by weight of peeled potatoes, glucose of potato extracts of both cultivars was decreased by about 22% when the extracts were ...

Studies on conditions for the polarographic determination of glucose with glucose oxidase

Clinica Chimica Acta, 1972
Abstract Results are presented on the effect of several variables on a method for the determination of glucose using a polarograph with a Clark-type O 2 electrode and glucose oxidase. Glucose concentration [ G ] was proportional to the rate of O 2 consumption |− Δ O 2 / Δt | in the 5–800 μg/ml range.
