Dietary cyanidin 3-O-beta-D-glucoside-rich purple corn color prevents obesity and ameliorates hyperglycemia in mice.

open access: yesJournal of NutriLife, 2003
Anthocyanins, which are used as a food coloring, are widely distributed in human diets, suggesting that we ingest large amounts of anthocyanins from plant-based foods. Mice were fed control, cyanidin 3-glucoside-rich purple corn color (PCC), high fat (HF)

A flavonoid 3-O-glucoside:2″-O-glucosyltransferase responsible for terminal modification of pollen-specific flavonols in Arabidopsis thaliana

open access: yesThe Plant Journal, 2014
Flavonol 3-O-diglucosides with a 1→2 inter-glycosidic linkage are representative pollen-specific flavonols that are widely distributed in plants, but their biosynthetic genes and physiological roles are not well understood.

Alfalfa Flavonoids Mitigate Salmonella‐Induced Colitis via the Keap1‐Nrf2 and TLR4/NF‐κB/COX‐2 Pathways

open access: yesFood Frontiers, EarlyView.
Alfalfa flavonoids (AF) protected against Salmonella‐induced colitis by reducing inflammation and oxidative stress. AF inhibited the TLR4/IκB/NF‐κB/COX‐2 pathway and NLRP3 inflammasome, lowering pro‐inflammatory cytokines, while activating Keap1‐Nrf2 to boost antioxidants (e.g., HO‐1, NQO1, SOD, GPx), decreasing ROS‐driven oxidative stress.

Construction of artificial biosynthetic pathways for resveratrol glucoside derivatives.

open access: yesJournal of Microbiology and Biotechnology, 2014
Resveratrol, which is a polyphenolic antioxidant, is dose-dependent when used to provide health benefits, to enhance stress resistance, and to extend lifespans. However, even though resveratrol has therapeutic benefits, its clinical therapeutic effect is
