Fire resistance performance of glulam beam

A glulam beam with the size of 4700 mm×300 mm×480 mm (L×W×H) was tested in the furnace to investigate the fire resistance performance of glulam beam according to the temperature curve of ISO834. Three surfaces, the bottom and the two flanks, of the glulam beam were exposed to fire in the test.

Bamboo Reinforced Glulam Beams: An Alternative to CFRP Reinforced Glulam Beams

A research study was undertaken to investigate the mechanical performance of glulam beams reinforced by CFRP or bamboo. Local reinforcement is proposed in order to improve the flexural strength of glulam beams. The glulam beam is strengthened in tension and along its sides with the carbon fiber-reinforced polymer CFRP or bamboo.

A Flexible Adhesive Layer to Strengthen Glulam Beams
