Purification and properties of glutamate synthase fromStreptomyces lincolnensis

Science in China Series C: Life Sciences, 1998
Glulamale synthase (EC 1.4.1. 14) was purified to homogeneity from 8 cell-free extract of Streptomyces lincolnensis by precipitation with streptomycin sulfate and ammonium sulfate, and column chromatography on DEAE cellulose, Sepharose 6B, DEAE-sephadex A-50, hydroxyapatite and Sephadex G-150.

[Ferredoxin-dependent glutamate synthase of Chlorella].

Biokhimiia (Moscow, Russia), 1979
Ferredoxin-dependent glutamate synthase has been found in cells of thermophylic Chlorella strain Ch. pyrenoidosa 82T. The enzyme is active with its own ferredoxin and that of Spirulina. Glutamate synthase activity increases during nitrogen starvation and than decreases in the course of successive ammonium assimilation.

Some properties of glutamate dehydrogenase, glutamine synthetase and glutamate synthase from Corynebacterium callunae

Archives of Microbiology, 1992
Characteristics of the three major ammonia assimilatory enzymes, glutamate dehydrogenase (GDH), glutamine synthetase (GS) and glutamate synthase (GO-GAT) in Corynebacterium callunae (NCIB 10338) were examined. The GDH of C. callunae specifically required NADPH and NADP+ as coenzymes in the amination and deamination reactions, respectively.

[5] N-Methyl-l-glutamate synthase

1985
Publisher Summary N-Methyl-L-glutamate synthase is an inducible enzyme found in several species of Pseudomonas grown on methylated amines. The enzyme functions in a cycle in which free methylamine first reacts with L-glutamate to yield N-methyl-L-glutamate and free ammonia.
