The FindMNDBiomarker Program: Protein Changes in Motor Neuron Disease/Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis Postmortem Tissue and Biofluids

open access: yesAnnals of Neurology, EarlyView.
Objective Biomarkers of disease pathogenesis are critically needed for amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) to facilitate diagnosis and patient stratification into appropriate therapeutic trials. Proteomic studies offer significant potential to advance this, but reproducibility across laboratories is a key component toward identifying protein changes ...

Targeted Proteomics upon Treatment with Tofersen Identifies Novel Response Markers for Superoxide Dismutase 1‐Linked Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis

open access: yesAnnals of Neurology, EarlyView.
Objective Tofersen is the first effective and approved therapy for superoxide dismutase 1 (SOD1)‐associated amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS [SOD1‐ALS]). Following treatment with tofersen, neurofilament levels in patients' cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) and serum seem to respond earlier than clinical parameters.

Approaches to Enhance Photodynamic Therapy of Lung Cancer: Potential Application of Nanoparticles

open access: yesAdvanced NanoBiomed Research, EarlyView.
Bioactive ligand‐targeted nanocarriers can accommodate functionalization with numerous targeting ligands for effective delivery of photosensitizers (PSs) within targeted photodynamic therapy. Various targeting moieties including peptides, antibodies, carbohydrates, aptamers, proteins, and PS anticancer molecules can be attached to nanomaterials.

Impact of Interfacial Viscosity on the Robustness of Phospholipid‐Decorated Fluid Cell Scaffolds

open access: yesAdvanced NanoBiomed Research, EarlyView.
Viscosity‐tunable fluid scaffolds are developed by decorating a perfluorocarbon interface with phospholipid membranes (IPLMs) of varying unsaturated lipid contents. A solid‐like IPLM is cell‐adhesive but brittle, whereas the least viscous IPLM does not allow cell adhesion. Moderately viscous IPLMs serve as highly adaptive cellular scaffolds.

Erweiterung des Repertoires an lichtschaltbaren unnatürlichen Aminosäuren für das Enzym‐Engineering

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, EarlyView.
