Mucociliary Clearance Inspired Nanozyme‐centric Hydrogel Composites for Integrated Bacterial Detection

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Inspired by human pulmonary cilia and their mucus defend against bacteria, nanozyme‐centric hydrogel networks have been assembled into nanowires, combining the rapid penetration capability of the nanowire arrays with the adhesion and detection functions of the nanozyme‐centric hydrogel networks.

Bioinspired Claw‐Engaged Adhesive Microparticles Armed with γGC Alleviate Ulcerative Colitis via Targeted Suppression of Macrophage Ferroptosis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
γGC deficiency in ulcerative colitis drives macrophage ferroptosis‐mediated inflammation. Claw‐engaged microparticles armed with γGC (γGC‐MPs) enhance lesion targeting, promoting localized γGC release and tissue uptake. On the cover, Monkey King (Macrophages) was bound by the Immortal‐Binding Rope and subsequently sealed beneath the Five‐Fingered ...

Comparison of plasma malondialdehyde, glutathione, glutathione peroxidase, hydroxyproline and selenium levels in patients with vitiligo and healthy controls

open access: yesIndian Journal of Dermatology, 2008
Background: The etiology and pathophysiologic mechanism of vitiligo are still unclear. The relationship between increased oxidative stress due to the accumulation of radicals and reactive oxygen species and the associated changes in blood and epidermal ...

DeepSecMS Advances DIA‐Based Selenoproteome Profiling Through Cys‐to‐Sec Proxy Training

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
DeepSecMS, a deep learning platform leveraging a Cys‐to‐Sec proxy training strategy, enhances the identification of known selenoproteins and holds promise for discovering novel candidates. This proxy approach overcomes limitations associated with the rarity of known selenoproteins and demonstrates broad applicability in studying other rare protein ...

Copper‐Based Nanotubes That Enhance Starvation Therapy Through Cuproptosis for Synergistic Cancer Treatment

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
We designed a copper‐based nanotube (NT) with copper ionophores to induce enhanced cuproptosis. In combination with starvation therapy, the NT significantly inhibited energy metabolism in HCC cells. Our results show that the depletion of GSH by Cu2+ intensified oxidative stress and cuproptosis, resulting in ROS generation and DLAT aggregation ...

Aberrant Mitochondrial Metabolism in Alzheimer's Disease Links Energy Stress with Ferroptosis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Alves et al. reveal how energy loss and oxidative stress, two major features of Alzheimer's disease, are connected. Mitochondria controls the flux of the antioxidant glutathione (GSH), via facilitating both its production and consumption. Energy restriction limits GSH synthesis, conferring vulnerability to cell death by ferroptosis, implicated as a ...
