Engineered Mn‐substituted HfO2 (HMO) is identified with enhanced sonopiezoelectric effects and multienzymatic activities, promoting reactive oxygen species generation and amplifying oxidative stress in cancer cells. Upon ultrasound irradiation, HMO evokes cancer cell PANoptosis, thereby triggering robust antitumor immunity.

Molecular and cellular paradigms of multidrug resistance in cancer
Abstract Background The acquisition of resistance to chemotherapy is a major hurdle in the successful application of cancer therapy. Several anticancer approaches, including chemotherapies, radiotherapy, surgery and targeted therapies are being employed for the treatment of cancer.

Fe-MoS$_2$ nanoenzyme with photothermal enhanced enzyme activity for glucose colorimetric detection [PDF]
With the development of nanotechnology, it has been discovered that some nanomaterials have the activity of mimicking enzymes. This type of inorganic nanomaterial with characteristics similar to natural enzymes is called nanoenzyme. Compared with natural enzymes, nanoenzymes have advantages such as low deactivation, good stability, low production and ...

Nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy of single subnanoliter ova [PDF]
Nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) spectroscopy is, in principle, a promising candidate to study the intracellular chemistry of single microscopic living entities. However, due to sensitivity limitations, NMR experiments were reported only on very few and relatively large single cells down to a minimum volume of 10 nl.

Identification and Application of a Novel Patulin Degrading Enzyme From Meyerozyma guilliermondii
Patulin (PAT), a hazardous mycotoxin, threatens human health. A novel yeast‐derived short‐chain dehydrogenase/reductase effectively degrades PAT into nontoxic ascladiol via catalytic triad activity. The biological detoxification process has no significant effect on the quality of fresh pear juice.

Abstract Background Calreticulin (CRT), an endoplasmic reticulum–resident protein generally overexpressed in cancer cells, is associated with radiation resistance. CRT shows higher transacetylase activity, as shown by us earlier, in the presence of the polyphenolic acetates (like 7, 8‐diacetoxy‐4‐methylcoumarin, DAMC) and modifies the activity of a ...
