Association between null Genotypes of glutathione S-transferase M1 and T1 and susceptibility to systemic lupus erythematosus: A meta-analysis [PDF]
Oxidative stress is involved in the development of systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE). It is well known that activity of the glutathione S-transferase superfamily has a protective effect against oxidative stress.

Evaluation of glutathione S-transferase Pi in non-invasive ductal carcinoma of breast
Glutathione S-transferase Pi (GST P) has been reported to be a marker of dysplastic lesions. For this reason expression of GST P by intraduct breast carcinoma was evaluated by immunohistochemistry. Thirty-seven of 92 carcinomas (40%) were GST P positive.

A population-based study of glutathione-S-transferase M1, T1 and P1 genotypes
A retrospective study on healthy, unrelated subjects was conducted in order to estimate population glutathione-S-transferases (GST) genotype frequencies in Slovak population of men and compare our results with already published data (GSEC project)^1^.

Polymorphisms of Glutathione S-transferases Omega-1 among ethnic populations in China
Background Glutathione S-transferases (GSTs) is a genetic factor for many diseases and exhibits great diversities among various populations. We assessed association of the genotypes of Glutathione S-transferases Omega-1 (GSTO1) A140D with ethnicity in ...

Binding of benzo(a)pyrene to rat lung glutathione S-transferases in vivo
A highly selective in vivo binding of benzo(a)pyrene to rat lung glutathione S-transferases is demonstrated. Benzo(a)pyrene or its metabolites are specifically bound to Ya' and Yc subunits of rat lung glutathione S ...

Protein engineering to probe the catalytic mechanism of Alpha-class glutathione S-transferases
Glutathione S-Transferases (GSTs) are a large family of isoenzymes that catalyse the addition of glutathione to hydrophobic electrophiles. Over-expression of GSTs in tumours leads to resistance to chemotherapy drugs, thus understanding GST biochemistry ...

The role of glutathione transferases in TNT detoxification [PDF]
Glutathione transferases (GSTs) are multi-functional enzymes with an important role in plant biochemical mechanisms of xenobiotic detoxification. The GSTs have been extensively studied due to their ability to detoxify herbicides; recently they have been ...
