Accessing the impact of harvest weights of Tenebrio molitor on amino acid digestibility and metabolizable energy in cecectomized laying hens

open access: yesJournal of the Science of Food and Agriculture, Volume 106, Issue 1, Page 665-674, 15 January 2026.
Abstract BACKGROUND The effects of harvest weights on composition, amino acid (AA) digestibility and metabolizable energy (MEN) of Tenebrio molitor (TM) were investigated using cecectomized laying hens. The partially defatted and dried TM variants comprised median individual frass‐free harvest weights of 60, 80, 100, and 120 mg of larvae, and a pupae ...

Type 1 Diabetes and Other Autoimmune Diseases—Epidemiology, Pathophysiology and Screening

open access: yesEndocrinology, Diabetes &Metabolism, Volume 9, Issue 1, January 2026.
Individuals with type 1 diabetes exhibit significantly increased prevalence of additional autoimmune diseases. Epidemiological, familial and mechanistic evidence indicates frequent polyautoimmunity and shared genetic and environmental drivers. Coexistence complicates clinical management, and autoantibody‐based detection often identifies preclinical ...

The diagnostic potential of urinary volatile organic compounds for colorectal neoplasia in Lynch syndrome—A prospective longitudinal study

open access: yesInternational Journal of Cancer, Volume 158, Issue 1, Page 257-266, 1 January 2026.
What's new? Lynch syndrome demands lifelong colonoscopy surveillance to early detect and treat colorectal cancer (CRC) and prevent CRC by removing adenomas. However, colonoscopy overuse and post‐colonoscopy CRC rates among individuals with Lynch syndrome are problematic.

Heat Sealability and Convertibility of Cellulose Film in Vertical Form, Fill and Seal Machine for Food Packaging Applications

open access: yesPackaging Technology and Science, Volume 39, Issue 1, Page 33-48, January 2026.
The study demonstrated that regenerated cellulose films exhibit limited sealability at elevated temperatures due to thermal degradation. Serrated sealing tools enabled tighter seals especially in triple point area, while flat tools resulted in microchannel leaks.
