Evaluation of endometriosis patients' expectations of a therapeutic patient education program and comparison with practitioners' perception

open access: yesInternational Journal of Gynecology &Obstetrics, EarlyView.
Abstract Objective Endometriosis significantly affects patients' quality of life, yet its management remains challenging due to diagnostic delays and symptom complexity. Fasting plasma glucose performs better than glycated hemoglobin and glycated albumin for diagnosing gestational diabetes

open access: yesInternational Journal of Gynecology &Obstetrics, EarlyView.
Abstract Objective Universal screening for gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM) using the oral glucose tolerance test (OGTT) has been recommended. In resource‐poor environments, OGTTs are only administered to high‐risk cases. In countries such as South Africa, where female obesity is common, this translates into high numbers of tests.

Light‐Mediated Insulin and Amylin Secretion: Influence of Irradiation Parameters in Optogenetically Modified Mouse‐Pancreatic β Cells

open access: yesJournal of Biophotonics, EarlyView.
This study demonstrates variation in photo‐induced secretion of insulin and amylin from Channelrhodopsin‐2 expressing MIN6 cells under different irradiation conditions. For the first time, an alteration in the relative ratio of amylin: insulin is observed with varying irradiation conditions.

Investigating the Factors Affecting the Commutability of Hemoglobin A1C Frozen Pooled Blood Materials

open access: yesJournal of Clinical Laboratory Analysis, EarlyView.
Hemolysis increased visual appearance, plasma absorbance, and hemolysis index but did not affect the commutability of HbA1C across CE, CE‐HPLC, and TI. In contrast, BA‐HPLC results may be influenced when HbA1C exceeds 6.23% NGSP, highlighting the limitations of using frozen pooled blood (FPB) in external quality assessment.
