Enzymatic production of glycerol acetate from glycerol

Enzyme and Microbial Technology, 2015
In this study, we report the enzymatic production of glycerol acetate from glycerol and methyl acetate. Lipases are essential for the catalysis of this reaction. To find the optimum conditions for glycerol acetate production, sequential experiments were designed.

Glycerol metabolism in higher plants: Glycerol kinase

Biochemical and Biophysical Research Communications, 1987
Glycerol kinase activity was identified in extracts of higher plant seeds and seedlings, and was partially purified and characterized from cucumber radicle tissue. The enzyme was localized in the post-mitochondrial supernatant of the cell, and catalyzed the formation of glycerol-3-phosphate. The pH optiumum was 9.0.

Glycerol and Glycerol Phosphates

2008
Disorders of glycerol metabolism include glycerol kinase deficiency and glycerol intolerance syndrome. Glycerol is a neutral, colorless liquid that can be detected in urine and blood. Analysis in urine is done by gas chromatography-mass spectrometry as performed for urine organic acid analysis as long as the sample is not treated with an ion exchange ...

A highly stretchable, ultra-tough, remarkably tolerant, and robust self-healing glycerol-hydrogel for a dual-responsive soft actuator

Journal of Materials Chemistry A, 2019
A novel strategy to synthesize a glycerol-hydrogel with high stretchability, ultra-toughness, remarkable tolerance, and outstanding self-healing capability has been developed. A soft actuator has been fabricated based on the glycerol-hydrogel.
