Utilization of Glycerol for Glycerol Carbonate Synthesis via Transesterfication Reaction over Bio-Char Catalyst prepared from reed plant

open access: yesJournal of Engineering, 2020
Biodiesel production process was attracted more attention recently due to the surplus quantity of glycerol (G) as a byproduct from the process. Glycerol Utilization must take in to consideration to fix this issue also, to ensure biodiesel industry ...

Esters of oligo-(glycerol carbonate-glycerol): New biobased oligomeric surfactants [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Colloid and Interface Science, 2017
Glycerol carbonate is one of the most potentially multifunction glycerol-derived compounds. Glycerol is an important by-product of the oleochemical industry. The oligomerization of glycerol carbonate, assisted by the glycerol, results in the production of polyhydroxylated oligomers rich in linear carbonate groups. The polar moieties of these oligomers (

Organic Carbonate Production Utilizing Crude Glycerol Derived as By-Product of Biodiesel Production: A Review

open access: yesEnergies, 2020
As a promising alternative renewable liquid fuel, biodiesel production has increased and eventually led to an increase in the production of its by-product, crude glycerol. The vast generation of glycerol has surpassed the market demand.

Aminolysis Reaction of Glycerol Carbonate in Organic and Hydroorganic Medium [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
Aminolysis reaction of glycerol carbonate with primary amine in organic and hydroorganic media leads to the formation of two hydroxyurethane isomers and a partial decomposition of glycerol carbonate into glycerol.

Transesterification of Glycerol with Dimethyl Carbonate to Glycerol Carbonate over Na–based Zeolites [PDF]

open access: yesChinese Journal of Catalysis, 2012
Abstract Glycerol carbonate (GC) was synthesized via transesterification of glycerol with dimethyl carbonate under mild conditions over a series of base zeolites. It was found that the NaY zeolite exhibited a higher selectivity for GC (100%) than heterogeneous bases (such as CaO and SrO) or homogeneous catalysts (such as NaOH and K2CO3).
