Preparation and Characterization of Imidacloprid Lignin–Polyethylene Glycol Matrices Coated with Ethylcellulose

Journal of Agricultural and Food Chemistry, 2012
Imidacloprid, a systemic insecticide that has a water solubility of 610 mg L(-1), has been formulated in lignin-polyethylene glycol matrices by a melting process. This formulation was coated in a Wurster type fluidized-bed equipment using ethylcellulose and dibutyl sebacate. Imidacloprid has been entrapped, with an entrapment efficiency higher than 87%

Polyesters from lignin—2. The copolyesterification of kraft lignin and polyethylene glycols with dicarboxylic acid chlorides

European Polymer Journal, 1991
Abstract Cross-linked copolyesters containing kraft lignin were synthesized with sebacoyl chloride and terephthaloyl chloride by bulk polymerization. Polyethylene glycol was used as co-monomer and solvent for lignin. The effects of COCl/OH ratio, percentage of kraft lignin and molecular weight of PEG on the yield and thermal properties of these ...

Lignin‐polyethylene glycol matrices and ethylcellulose to encapsulate highly soluble herbicides

Journal of Applied Polymer Science, 2014
ABSTRACTThe blending of lignin with polyethylene glycol (PEG) allowed us to obtain formulations with controlled release properties in which metribuzin have been successfully trapped with encapsulation efficiency higher than 85%. Moreover, the modification of the lignin's viscoelastic properties by the addition of PEG led to obtain herbicide ...

Rigid polyurethane foams containing lignin oxyalkylated with ethylene carbonate and polyethylene glycol

Industrial Crops and Products, 2019
Abstract A “green” oxyalkylation protocol employing ethylene carbonate (EC), polyethylene glycol 400 (PEG400), and water was developed to convert an industry byproduct, kraft lignin (KL), into biopolyols for the production of rigid polyurethane (RPU) foams.

Determination of lignin and cellulose in forages by extraction with triethylene glycol

Journal of the Science of Food and Agriculture, 1973
AbstractA method of lignin determination which utilises the solubility of lignin in HCl‐activated triethylene glycol at 121 °C is described. Experiments on a range of samples indicate that the method is simple, fast and reproducible, and relates well to in vitro organic matter digestibility.
