Lignin Valorization via Acidolysis with Ethylene Glycol Stabilization [PDF]

open access: yes, 2021
This thesis describes several aspects of lignin acidolysis with ethylene glycol stabilization and possible applications of the obtained monomers. An efficient strategy was developed to convert native lignin in lignocellulose to new lignin-derived platform chemicals (G/S-C2-acetals), a set of monomers that is not accessible via other lignin ...

Organic Acid Lignin-based Polyurethane Films: Synthesis Parameter Optimization

open access: yesBioResources, 2016
Polyurethane (PU) films were prepared by solution casting using a three-component system, namely, a novel solvolytic lignin, polyethylene glycol (PEG), and tolylene 2,4-diisocyanate (TDI), with dibutyltin dilaurate as a catalyst.

Comparative Evaluation of Additives in Softwood Fractionation: Impacts on Lignin Recovery and Pulp Quality. [PDF]

open access: yesChemSusChem
Chemical lignin stabilization during acid hydrotropic fractionation is shown to distinctly influence delignification, lignin quality, and pulp performance. Phenol enhances lignin removal, while thiol‐based modifier yields light‐colored lignin, high recovery, and strong pulp.
