Synthesis of O-Glycopeptides and Construction of Glycopeptide Microarrays
2013O-glycosylation of proteins is an important modification which affects biological function and immunity. In this chapter, we provide protocols for efficient solid-phase O-glycopeptide synthesis (SPGPS) and protocols for the construction of glycopeptide microarray chips for screening applications.

Numerous glycopeptides continue to be described in the literature. They all share a similar heptapeptidic structure with a fixed spatial configuration that forms the basis of their ability to recognize D-alanyl-D-alanine-containing structures in the cell wall.

Abstract Vancomycin is the only glycopeptide antibiotic licensed for clinical use in the United States. Another glycopeptide antibiotic, teicoplanin, is currently in clinical use in Europe, where, in addition, the glycopeptide avoparcin has been used in chicken and ruminant livestock feed as a growth promoter.

From Glycopeptides to Glycopeptoids
European Journal of Organic Chemistry, 2014AbstractThis review covers the published literature describing the synthesis of glycopeptoids, a family of glycopeptide mimics. Members of this family are composed of an N‐substituted glycine or β‐alanine oligomer backbone linked to one or several carbohydrate moieties at the amide nitrogen atoms. The interest in this class of biomimetics lies in their

A New Approach to Glycopeptides
Angewandte Chemie International Edition, 1999In only three or four steps glycosylated dipeptide and tripeptide fragments, respectively (see scheme), can be obtained from hydroxy amino acids by using a novel protecting group/activation concept. The method presented is even superior to the pentafluorophenyl ester method.

Glycopeptide and Oligosaccharide Libraries
Angewandte Chemie International Edition, 2000Despite the burgeoning interest in the various biological functions and consequent therapeutic potential of the vast number of oligosaccharides found in nature on glycoproteins and cell surfaces, the development of combinatorial carbohydrate chemistry has not progressed as rapidly as expected.

Enrichment Strategies for Glycopeptides
2008In order to understand glycoprotein functionality, information on the structure of both the core proteins and the glycan moieties is necessary. From a practical viewpoint, glycopeptides rather than whole glycoproteins are the general targets for structural analysis, which is primarily carried out by employing mass spectrometry (MS).
