Cyanogenetic glycosides and simple glycosides from the linseed meal
Fitoterapia, 2015Three new cyanogenetic triglycosides linustatins A-C (1-3), and two new simple glycosides linustatins D and E (4 and 5) were isolated from the 70% ethanol extract of flaxseed meal (Linum usitatissimum L.). Their structures were elucidated on the basis of spectroscopic analysis and chemical evidence.

Steryl Glycosides and Acylated Steryl Glycosides
1977Steryl glycosides and acylated steryl glycosides have attracted the attention of both plant physiologists and biochemists, primarily because of the similarity between their properties and those of typical membrane lipids of the plant cell. Because of these similarities, both components, which are widely distributed in higher plants, are possibly ...

Nucleofuge Generating Glycosidations by the Remote Activation of Hydroxybenzotriazolyl Glycosides
The Journal of Organic Chemistry, 2017Hydroxybenzotriazole is routinely used in peptide chemistry for reducing racemization due to the increased reactivity. In this article, very stable hydroxybenzotriazolyl glucosides were identified to undergo glycosidation. The reaction was hypothesized to go through the remote activation by the Tf2O at the N3-site of HOBt followed by the extrusion of ...

Steroidal glycosides and cardenolide glycosides from Asclepias fruticosa
Phytochemistry, 1994Asclepias fruticosa afforded, in addition to five known pregnane glycosides and 11 known cardenolide glycosides, four new pregnane glycosides and eleven new cardenolide glycosides. Structures of these compounds were elucidated by spectroscopic methods and from chemical evidence.

The glycosidic bond might be degraded by chemical and/or enzymatic agents. Comparative studies revealed that chemical hydrolysis is nonspecific and on the other hand the enzymatic is regiospecific and stereospecific. The glycosides are chemically susceptible to acid conditions and only in some cases to basic conditions.
