Polysaccharide conformations measured by solution state x-ray scattering [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
Polysaccharides are semi-flexible polymers composed of sugar residues with a myriad of important functions including structural support, energy storage and immunogenicity. The local conformation of such chains is a crucial factor governing their interactions, where the relative orientation of adjacent sugar rings determines the propensity for hydrogen ...

Force Field Analysis Software and Tools (FFAST): Assessing Machine Learning Force Fields Under the Microscope [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2023
As the sophistication of Machine Learning Force Fields (MLFF) increases to match the complexity of extended molecules and materials, so does the need for tools to properly analyze and assess the practical performance of MLFFs. To go beyond average error metrics and into a complete picture of a model's applicability and limitations, we develop FFAST ...

Proteomic Analysis of a Novel Bacillus Jumbo Phage Revealing Glycoside Hydrolase As Structural Component

open access: yesFrontiers in Microbiology, 2016
Tailed phages with genomes of larger than 200 kbp are classified as Jumbo phages and exhibited extremely high uncharted diversity. The genomic annotation of Jumbo phage is often disappointing because most of the predicted proteins, including structural ...

Unveiling Salt Tolerance Mechanisms in Plants: Integrating the KANMB Machine Learning Model With Metabolomic and Transcriptomic Analysis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Salt stress endangers coastal cereal crops, requiring resilient crop solutions. This study employs machine learning (KANMB) to analyze multi‐omics data from halophyte Spartina alterniflora, revealing 226 salt‐stress biomarkers and linking them to tolerance pathways. The MYB gene SaMYB35 regulates flavonoid biosynthesis under salinity.

Ionic Liquid-Based Vacuum Microwave-Assisted Extraction Followed by Macroporous Resin Enrichment for the Separation of the Three Glycosides Salicin, Hyperin and Rutin from Populus Bark

open access: yesMolecules, 2014
An effective ionic liquid vacuum microwave-assisted method was developed for extraction of the thermo- and oxygen-sensitive glycosides salicin, hyperin and rutin from Populus bark due to the strong solvating effects of ionic liquids on plant cell walls ...

Kinsenoside‐Loaded Microneedle Accelerates Diabetic Wound Healing by Reprogramming Macrophage Metabolism via Inhibiting IRE1α/XBP1 Signaling Axis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Gut metabolite trimethylamine N‐oxide accumulates in the diabetic wound area to amplify macrophage inflammation via enhancing glycolysis activities. Kinsenoside induces macrophage repolarization from M1 to M2 phenotype through inhibiting IRE1α/XBP1 pathway, followed by HIF‐1α‐glycolysis axis repression and mitophagy‐oxidative phosphorylation axis ...

Cartilage‐Penetrating Framework Nucleic Acid Nanoparticles Ameliorate Osteoarthritis by Promoting Drug Delivery and Chondrocyte Uptake

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Based on the poor cartilage penetration of tFNA, a novel tFNA‐2WL with excellent cartilage permeability and perfect chondrocyte endocytosis properties is designed and fabricated. As a result, tFNA‐2WL has a nearly seven‐fold increase in the penetration depth into the cartilage, with the same excellent cell entry properties as tFNA.

Inhibition of Heat Shock Protein 90β by Catalpol: A Potential Therapeutic Approach for Alleviating Inflammation‐Induced Cartilage Injuries in Osteoarthritis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The schematic diagram delineates the chondroprotective effects of Ca‐bMSN in OA models. The upper portion of the diagram depicts the synthesis process of Ca‐bMSN. The lower section illustrates the post‐injection of Ca‐bMSN in joint cavity, catalpol released and subsequently mediates the reduction of oxidative stress, ECM catabolism, apoptosis, and ...
