Ultrasound-Assisted Synthesis of 1-N-glycosyl-1H-1,2,3-Triazole Derivatives and their Anti-inflammatory Activity

open access: yesOrbital: The Electronic Journal of Chemistry, 2012
We have been synthesized various glycosyl triazoles from the reaction between glycosyl azide (1) and terminal alkynes (2a-g). The glycopiranosyl 1,2,3-triazoles (3-9) have been obtained in moderate-to-excellent yields (63-99%) through the copper (I ...

Computationally Discovered Potentiating Role of Glycans on NMDA Receptors [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2016
N-methyl-D-aspartate receptors (NMDARs) are glycoproteins in the brain central to learning and memory. The effects of glycosylation on the structure and dynamics of NMDARs are largely unknown. In this work, we use extensive molecular dynamics simulations of GluN1 and GluN2B ligand binding domains (LBDs) of NMDARs to investigate these effects.

Genome-wide analysis of the UDP-glucose dehydrogenase gene family in Arabidopsis, a key enzyme for matrix polysaccharides in cell walls [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
Arabidopsis cell walls contain large amounts of pectins and hemicelluloses, which are predominantly synthesized via the common precursor UDP-glucuronic acid.

Synthesis of α‐Arylglycosides by Ni‐Photoredox Arylation of Sugars with an Organic Photocatalyst

open access: yesChemCatChem, EarlyView.
Sweet light. A Ni‐photoredox catalytic methodology exploiting a donor‐acceptor cyanoarene allows for the synthesis of C‐aryl glycosides from benzyl protected monosaccharides and aryl bromides. Notably, the α‐C‐aryl glycoside product is preferentially formed with remarkable selectivity (α /β ≥ 10:1 in most cases).

Urea–hydrogen peroxide prompted the selective and controlled oxidation of thioglycosides into sulfoxides and sulfones

open access: yesBeilstein Journal of Organic Chemistry, 2017
A practical method for the selective and controlled oxidation of thioglycosides to corresponding glycosyl sulfoxides and sulfones is reported using urea–hydrogen peroxide (UHP). A wide range of glycosyl sulfoxides are selectively achieved using 1.5 equiv

Glucose values prediction five years ahead with a new framework of missing responses in reproducing kernel Hilbert spaces, and the use of continuous glucose monitoring technology [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2020
AEGIS study possesses unique information on longitudinal changes in circulating glucose through continuous glucose monitoring technology (CGM). However, as usual in longitudinal medical studies, there is a significant amount of missing data in the outcome variables.

5,6-Dihydro-2H-pyran-3(4H)-on als Baustein zur Synthese pyrananellierter Heterocyclen [PDF]

open access: yes, 1984
Während 5,6-Dihydro-2H-pyran-3(4H)-on (3) sich mit ortho-substituierten Phenylcarbonylverbindungen nur in Einzelfällen regioselektiv zu pyrananellierten Heterocyclen umsetzt - z. B.

A Simple and Efficient Stereoselective Synthesis of a 2,3‐Difluorosialic Acid‐Based Influenza Virus Neuraminidase Inhibitor

open access: yesChemistry – A European Journal, Volume 31, Issue 16, March 17, 2025.
A new simple approach for the exquisitely stereo‐controlled introduction of the C‐3 equatorial fluorine on neuraminic acid derivatives by incorporation of steric bulk at C‐4. Through this size‐controlled method, we have elaborated a novel synthetic route that exclusively produces the potent anti‐influenza drug candidate; 2,3‐difluoro‐zanamivir analogue

Single-Molecule Lamellar Hydrogels from Bolaform Microbial Glucolipids [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
Lipid lamellar hydrogels are rare soft fluids composed of a phospholipid lamellar phase instead of fibrillar networks. The mechanical properties of these materials are controlled by defects, induced by local accumulation of a polymer or surfactant in a classical lipid bilayer.

Glycosylphosphatidylinositols: More than just an anchor? [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
There is increasing interest in the role of glycosylphosphatidylinositol (GPI) anchors that attach some proteins to cell membranes. Far from being biologically inert, GPIs influence the targeting, intracellular trafficking and function of the attached ...
