Glycoconjugate glycosyltransferases
Glycoconjugate Journal, 2008Assay methods for representative glycosyltransferases were described, covering those involved in the synthesis of glycosphingolipids, N-glycans, O-glycans, and proteoglycan glycosaminoglycans. In addition, intracellular localization of glycosyltransferase was comprehensively summarized.

Glycosyltransferases and their Assays
ChemBioChem, 2010AbstractGlycosyltransferases (GTs) are a large family of enzymes that are essential in all domains of life for the biosynthesis of complex carbohydrates and glycoconjugates. GTs catalyse the transfer of a sugar from a glycosyl donor to a variety of acceptor molecules, for example, oligosaccharides, peptides, lipids or small molecules.

Current Opinion in Plant Biology, 2001
Glycosyltransferases are involved in the biosyntheses of cell-wall polysaccharides, the addition of N-linked glycans to glycoproteins, and the attachment of sugar moieties to various small molecules such as hormones and flavonoids. In the past two years, substantial progress has been made in the identification and cloning of genes that encode ...

Antibiotic glycosyltransferases
Biochemical Society Transactions, 2003In the biosynthesis of several classes of antibiotics, sugars are attached to aglycone scaffolds by antibiotic-specific glycosyltransferases in the latter stages of the pathways. Two glycosylation pathways will be examined: the glycopeptide antibiotics of the vancomycin class and the aminocoumarin antibiotics of the novobiocin class.

Glycosyltransferases as biocatalysts
Current Opinion in Chemical Biology, 2011Glycosyltransferases are useful synthetic tools for the preparation of natural oligosaccharides, glycoconjugates and their analogues. High expression levels of recombinant enzymes have allowed their use in multi-step reactions, on mg to multi-gram scales.
