Glycyrrhizic acid: the assessment of a no effect level
Human & Experimental Toxicology, 2000Because from earlier experiments in rats and a pilot study in humans a no effect level of glycyrrhizic acid could not be established, a second experiment was performed in healthy volunteers. The experiment was performed in females only, because the effects were most marked in females in the pilot study.

[Anti-inflammatory activity of glycyrrhizic acid derivatives].
Farmakologiia i toksikologiia, 1981The derivatives of glycyrrhizin acid--dihydrazidohydrazose of glycyrrhizin acid (DHGA), DHGA plus benzaldehyde, DHGA plus 5-nitrofurfurol, DHGA plus furfurol, glycyrrhizin acid, methylmethioninsulfonium-glycyrrhizinate, sodium salt of 18-glycyrrhetic acid, and potassium salt of glycyrrhizin acid--show a pronounced anti-inflammatory action, inhibit the ...

Superheated water extraction of glycyrrhizic acid from licorice root
Food Chemistry, 2016Superheated water extraction (SWE) has become an interesting green extraction method for different classes of compounds. In this study, SWE was used to extract glycyrrhizic acid (GA) from licorice root. Response surface methodology (RSM) was applied to evaluate and optimize the extraction conditions.

Glycyrrhizic acid: novel potential protein targets
Biomeditsinskaya KhimiyaTo date, a large body of data has been accumulated on the biological activity of a low-toxic natural glycoside, glycyrrhizic acid (GA), but the mechanism of its action at the molecular level has not been fully studied. Expanding knowledge about the spectrum of cellular protein targets of GA contributes to understanding new features of pharmacodynamics.

Self-Association of Glycyrrhizic Acid. NMR Study
Zeitschrift für Physikalische Chemie, 2016Abstract The use of various NMR techniques allows to demonstrate the aggregation processes of β-glycyrrhizic acid (GA) in water/methanol (4:1, v:v) mixture with solution pH≤5. The micelle formation was monitored by measuring T2 relaxation and diffusion of GA. The model of gelation from micelles was suggested.

This study aimed to prepare evodiamine-glycyrrhizic acid(EVO-GL) micelles to enhance the anti-hepatic fibrosis activity of evodiamine. Firstly, EVO-GL micelles were prepared with use of thin film dispersion method. With particle size, encapsulation efficiency, loading capacity of micelles and the solubility of evodiamine as the indexes, the effect of ...
