Peanut response following soybean grown full‐season or double‐cropped after wheat in North Carolina
Abstract Including soybean [Glycine max (L.) Merr.] in the previous cropping cycle can adversely affect peanut (Arachis hypogaea L.) yield by increasing disease incidence and populations of plant‐parasitic nematodes in the soil. The impact of double‐cropping wheat (Triticum aestivum L.) and soybean versus full‐season soybean (referred to as the soybean

Soybean and tobacco response to sublethal rates of herbicides used along roadsides
Abstract Herbicides are one of the primary tools for vegetation management along roadsides. However, the drift of particles and vapors from herbicide applications along roadsides can cause damage and yield loss in adjacent sensitive crops. The objective of this research was to investigate the response of soybean [Glycine max (L.) Merr.] and tobacco ...

Timing of cultural and chemical methods to remove perennial ryegrass overseeded in bermudagrass
Abstract Bermudagrass (Cynodon dactylon L.) is a warm‐season grass that is often overseeded with cool‐season perennial ryegrass (Lolium perenne L.) in the fall to provide green cover. Overseeded bermudagrass is desirable from late fall to early spring; however, turfgrass managers face challenges removing it in the spring and summer months.

The Food Safety Commission of Japan (FSCJ) conducted a risk assessment of glyphosate (CAS No. 1071-83-6), an amino acid herbicide, based on results from various studies. Major adverse effects of glyphosate were observed on reduced gain of body weight, GI tract (diarrhea, increased cecum weight, bowel dilatation, thickening of intestinal mucosa), and ...
