Thickness‐Dependent Infrared Emissivity of Ultrathin Freestanding MoSiN Nanocomposite Membranes
ABSTRACT Metals and dielectrics show opposite trends in thickness‐dependent infrared emissivity: metallic films exhibit a rise in emissivity below a critical thickness, while dielectric films show a corresponding decline. For applications demanding both high emissivity and mechanical strength in membranes with nanoscale thickness, combining these ...

This work presents a state‐adaptive Koopman linear quadratic regulator framework for real‐time manipulation of a deformable swab tool in robotic environmental sampling. By combining Koopman linearization, tactile sensing, and centroid‐based force regulation, the system maintains stable contact forces and high coverage across flat and inclined surfaces.

Efficient Deep Learning of GMMs
We show that a collection of Gaussian mixture models (GMMs) in $R^{n}$ can be optimally classified using $O(n)$ neurons in a neural network with two hidden layers (deep neural network), whereas in contrast, a neural network with a single hidden layer (shallow neural network) would require at least $O(\exp(n))$ neurons or possibly exponentially large ...

Automated poultry processing lines still rely on humans to lift slippery, easily bruised carcasses onto a shackle conveyor. Deformability, anatomical variance, and hygiene rules make conventional suction and scripted motions unreliable. We present ChicGrasp, an end‐to‐end hardware‐software co‐designed imitation learning framework, to offer a ...

Interpolation on the Manifold of K Component GMMs [PDF]
Probability density functions (PDFs) are fundamental objects in mathematics with numerous applications in computer vision, machine learning and medical imaging. The feasibility of basic operations such as computing the distance between two PDFs and estimating a mean of a set of PDFs is a direct function of the representation we choose to work with.

Ultra‐Low Intensity Continuous Wave Laser Ablation Propulsion With Graphene‐Engineered Wood
Graphene delignified wood converts continuous wave laser energy into thrust. Laser propulsion experiments in vacuum reveal the lowest laser ablation threshold intensities and the greatest density‐normalized specific impulse in literature. The results highlight graphene delignified wood as a potential efficient, sustainable, strong, and lightweight ...
