Safety evaluation of a food enzyme containing cellulase, endo‐1,3(4)‐β‐glucanase and endo‐1,4‐β‐xylanase activities from the non‐genetically modified Trichoderma reesei strain AR‐999
EFSA Journal, Volume 24, Issue 1, January 2026.Abstract
The food enzyme containing cellulase (EC 3.2.1.4), endo‐1,3(4)‐β‐glucanase (EC 3.2.1.6) and endo‐1,4‐β‐xylanase (EC 3.2.1.8) activities is produced with the non‐genetically modified Trichoderma reesei strain AR‐999 by AB‐Enzymes GmbH. The food enzyme was considered free from viable cells of the production organism. It is intended to be used in EFSA Panel on Food Enzymes (FEZ), Holger Zorn, José Manuel Barat Baviera, Claudia Bolognesi, Francesco Catania, Gabriele Gadermaier, Ralf Greiner, Baltasar Mayo, Alicja Mortensen, Yrjö Henrik Roos, Marize L. EFSA Journal, Volume 24, Issue 1, January 2026.Abstract
This guidance document applies to applications for a new authorisation as well as for a modification of an existing authorisation of a food additive, submitted under Regulation (EC) No 1333/2008. It defines the scientific data required to evaluate if the food additive is safe under the proposed conditions of use, in accordance with Articles 1 ...EFSA Panel on Food Additives and Flavourings (FAF), Laurence Castle, Monica Andreassen, Gabriele Aquilina, Maria Lourdes Bastos, Polly Boon, Biagio Fallico, Rex FitzGerald, Maria Jose Frutos Fernandez, Bettina Grasl‐Kraupp, Ursula Gundert‐Remy, Rainer Gürtler, Eric Houdeau, Marcin Kurek, Henriqueta Louro, Patricia Morales, Sabina Passamonti, Stefania Barmaz, Maria Carfì, Consuelo Civitella, Gabriele Gagliardi, Federica Lodi, Carla Martino, Elena Mazzoli, Agnieszka Mech, Josef Daniel Rasinger, Ana Maria Rincon, Laura Ruggeri, Camilla Smeraldi, Alexandra Tard, Panagiota Zakidou +30 morewiley +1 more sourceAssessment of genetically modified soybean GMB151 × DAS‐44406‐6 (application GMFF‐2024‐21774, EFSA‐Q‐2024‐00330) [PDF]
EFSA JAbstract
Genetically modified soybean GMB151 × DAS‐44406‐6 was developed by crossing to combine two single events: GMB151 and DAS‐44406‐6. The two‐event stack soybean expresses the Cry14Ab‐1, HPPD‐4, PAT, AAD‐12 and 2mEPSPS proteins to confer herbicide tolerance and resistance to plant parasitic nematodes.EFSA Panel on Genetically Modified Organisms (GMO), Josep Casacuberta, Francisco Barro, Albert Braeuning, Ruud de Maagd, Michelle M. EFSA Journal, Volume 24, Issue 1, January 2026.Abstract
The EFSA Panel on Food Additives and Flavourings (FAF Panel) provides a scientific opinion on the safety of a modified manufacturing process for the food additive enzymatically produced steviol glycosides (E 960c). The new process converts purified steviol glycosides extracted from Stevia rebaudiana leaves through enzymatic bioconversion ...EFSA Panel on Food Additives and Flavourings (FAF), Laurence Castle, Monica Andreassen, Gabriele Aquilina, Maria Lourdes Bastos, Polly Boon, Biagio Fallico, Rex FitzGerald, Maria Jose Frutos Fernandez, Bettina Grasl‐Kraupp, Ursula Gundert‐Remy, Rainer Gürtler, Eric Houdeau, Marcin Kurek, Henriqueta Louro, Patricia Morales, Sabina Passamonti, José Manuel Barat Baviera, Gisela Degen, David Gott, Lieve Herman, Jean‐Charles Leblanc, Peter Moldeus, Ine Waalkens‐Berendsen, Detlef Wölfle, Consuelo Civitella, Borana Dino, Simone Lunardi, Agnieszka Mech, Samuele Multari, Laura Ruggeri +30 morewiley +1 more sourceCommodity risk assessment of Lonicera ligustrina var. pileata, Lonicera ligustrina var. yunnanensis and Lonicera periclymenum plants from the UK
