Refinement of global gridded ray-traced Zenith tropospheric delay over Nigeria based on local GNSS network observations

open access: yesGeosystems and Geoenvironment, 2023
Recent studies on the application of Zenith Tropospheric Delay (ZTD) in meteorology and geodesy have shown improved accuracy with the use of locally estimated ZTD compared to Global ZTD.

Estimation of GNSS tropospheric products and their meteorological exploitation in Slovakia

open access: yesContributions to Geophysics and Geodesy, 2020
This paper discusses the in near–real time processing of Global Navigation Satellite System observations at the Department of Theoretical Geodesy at the Slovak University of Technology in Bratislava. Hourly observations from Central Europe are processed with 30 minutes delay to provide tropospheric products.

Investigation on the automatic geo-referencing of archaeological UAV photographs by correlation with pre-existing ortho-photos [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
We present a method for the automatic geo-referencing of archaeological photographs captured aboard unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), termed UPs. We do so by help of pre-existing ortho-photo maps (OPMs) and digital surface models (DSMs).

Monitoring of the Transient Sea Level Variations Associated With Hurricane‐Induced Storm Surges by GNSS‐IR

open access: yesGeophysical Research Letters, Volume 53, Issue 5, 16 March 2026.
Abstract As global climate change intensifies, hurricane‐induced storm surges are becoming more frequent and severe. While Global Navigation Satellite System‐Interferometric Reflectometry (GNSS‐IR) is widely used to monitor sea level variations, its capability to detect rapid and extreme events remains limited.

Instrumental Error Tolerance in Theodolite Measurements of Upper Winds [PDF]

open access: yesBiuletyn Wojskowej Akademii Technicznej
Modern military conflicts highlight the need for military equipment to be independent of GNSS and radio communications, which are vulnerable to interference and can reveal the position of troops.

A Regional Model for Predicting Tropospheric Delay and Weighted Mean Temperature in China Based on GRAPES_MESO Forecasting Products

open access: yesRemote Sensing, 2021
Accurate tropospheric delay (TD) and weighted mean temperature (Tm) are important for Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) positioning and GNSS meteorology.

GNSS-METEOROLOGY: OPPORTUNITIES AND PROSPECTS FOR DEVELOPMENT IN RUSSIA AND ABROAD

open access: yesInterexpo GEO-Siberia, 2020
The article considers the possibilities and prospects for the development of GNSS meteorology based on domestic and foreign research. It is noted that the tropospheric delay of the GNSS signal is a valuable source of information about the state of the troposphere.

Automated archiving of archaeological aerial images [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
The main purpose of any aerial photo archive is to allow quick access to images based on content and location. Therefore, next to a description of technical parameters and depicted content, georeferencing of every image is of vital importance.

Major Melting Event on the Ross Ice Shelf, Antarctica, Connected With Enhanced Atmospheric Turbulence

open access: yesGeophysical Research Letters, Volume 53, Issue 5, 16 March 2026.
Abstract The Ross Ice Shelf (RIS) in West Antarctica experienced extensive surface melting in January 2016, driven by warm humid air transported from over the Southern Ocean. Few studies have reported increased atmospheric water vapor and turbulent mixing during this event in this region, where the availability of surface measurements is challenging ...
