Uncertainty Propagation From Radio Occultation Profiles to Aggregated Atmospheric Gridded Fields
Abstract Radio occultation is a well‐established remote sensing method that provides reliable estimates of atmospheric profiles of diverse variables, including temperature and pressure. However, as with all indirect methods, radio occultation has some inherent systematic and random error effects, which lead to observational uncertainties.

Topside Ionization and Effect on Altitudinal Evolution of Nocturnal Ionospheric Irregularities
Abstract Topside ionospheric electron density (Ne) and its control on the variabilities in nocturnal ionospheric irregularities is examined globally using electron density measurements from COSMIC‐2 and Swarm satellite, along with the Swarm satellite‐based Ionospheric Plasma Irregularity (IPIR) index for low and high solar activity (LSA and HSA ...

Abstract F‐region bottom‐type scattering layers (BSLs) occurring over equatorial and low latitudes may act as the precursor of plasma bubbles, usually observed by narrow‐beam very high frequency radars. However, their spatial features remain unknown due to the radar narrow field‐of‐view.

Ionospheric data fusion with GNSS, GNSS-RO and satellite altimetry based on machine learning
Global ionospheric maps (GIMs) are widely used ionospheric products, especially in Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) applications. They allow for instance to correct for the ionospheric delays in single-frequency applications. The input data for generating GIMs is typically obtained from dual-frequency observations at globally distributed GNSS ...

Local Time Variability of Gravity Wave Activity Revealed by SABER Temperature Observations
Abstract The global characteristics of gravity wave potential energy variation depending on local time are analyzed using satellite observations covering a broad range of local times. A clear diurnal variation is observed in the equatorial region between 15°S and 15°N.

Bridging the Gap Between the Earth's Ionosphere and Plasmasphere
Abstract Cold plasma distribution in the ionosphere‐plasmasphere system governs wave‐particle interactions, plasma energization and loss, and radio wave propagation. A longstanding observational gap at altitudes ∼ ${\sim} $800–8,000 km has largely prevented studying the coupled dynamics of the two regions.

This paper investigates on the detection and localization of ionospheric irregularities using GNSS Radio Occultation (GNSS-RO). We propose a new segmented phase screen (PS) approach to improve vertical and horizontal localization and remove the presence of outliers. The study focused on the May 2024 geomagnetic solar storm is presented, consisting of a
