The location of bound S35 in the goblet cell of the rat colon at time points from 2 to 60 minutes after administration of S35 as sodium sulfate has been observed in vivo and in vitro by radioautographic techniques. Orally administered, pH‐responsive Co‐SAN exerts dual functions: in the alkaline intestinal milieu, it scavenges reactive oxygen species (ROS) and suppresses the PI3K/AKT pathway and NETs formation, thus providing radioprotection; whereas in the acidic tumor microenvironment, it generates ROS and alleviates hypoxia, thereby enhancing radiosensitization.
