Intrapericardial goiter cases are only a few in the literature. We present a 53-year-old woman who was operated for 8-cm anterior mediastinal mass located completely intrapericardial and histopathological examination revealed an ectopic goiter. It may be difficult to distinguish between mediastinal masses within or outside the pericardium. Thoracoscopy

Exophthalmic goiter in pregnancy is rare, owing to the restraining influence the disease exerts on conception. Halliday-Croom1reports only one case in 15,000 dispensary patients, while in his private practice he found twelve cases, causing him to believe that this complication is more prevalent among the upper classes.

AbstractThe management of a substernal goiter is a problem which has challenged surgeons since its first description in 1749. While the overall incidence in the United States has decreased with the routine use of iodized salt, the development of large multinodular substernal goiters in the rest of the world is still common.
