A Horsehair Worm, Gordius sp. (Nematomorpha: Gordiida), Passed in a Canine Feces. [PDF]
Nematomorpha, horsehair or Gordian worms, include about 300 freshwater species in 22 genera (Gordiida) and 5 marine species in 1 marine genus (Nectonema). They are parasitic in arthropods during their juvenile stage. In the present study, the used gordian worm was found in the feces of a dog (5-month old, male) in July 2014. Following the worm analysis

Observations on a British hairworm, parachordodes-wolterstorffii(nematomorpha, gordiidae)
Males of the nematomorph Parachordodes wolterstorffi from the New Forest, Hampshire, England have been examined entire, in thick sections and in cuticle preparations by light (differential interference contrast) and scanning electron microscopy. Surface features, internal organization and cuticular fibres are described and illustrated.

Infectivity of Chordodes nobilii larvae (Gordiida: Nematomorpha).

Description of Chordodes anthophorus (Gordiida) for the first time in Iran with an emphasis on scanning electron microscopy characters [PDF]
Summary We report a female Chordodes anthophorus from a Giant Asian Mantis ( Hierodula membranacea ) for the first time from Iran. Scanning electron microscopy (SEM) was used to describe the characters and substructures precisely.

The occurrence of epibionts of Gordiida (Nematomorpha) in Catamarca, Argentina [PDF]
AbstractThe presence of larvae and pupae of the genus Metrichia (Trichoptera, Hydroptilidae), larvae of the genus Macrelmis and Phanocerus (Coleoptera, Elmidae), three diatom genera Achnanthes, Cocconeis, Gomphonema, and some specimens of very small diatoms that could not be determined to species or genus level, were recorded for the first time as ...

A New Species of Gordionus (Nematomorpha: Gordiida) from the Rocky Mountains of New Mexico [PDF]
The 19 genera within the phylum Nematomorpha contain approximately 350 species. The cosmopolitan genus Gordionus Müller, 1926 contains about 58 species, 6 of which occur in the contiguous United States of America. Recently, 2 new Gordionus species were described from high-altitude streams within the southern Rocky Mountains, near Santa Fe, New Mexico ...

Three species of Nematomorpha were found in a survey of the ground beetles of Scottish agricultural land, Gordionus violaceus (Baird) and two undescribed new species, G. linourgos sp. nov. and G. diligens sp. nov. The morphology of all three species is studied with the aid of SEM, and the characteristics of the cuticle and the male terminal lobes ...

Chordodes colchis (Nematomorpha, Gordiida), a new species from Georgia [PDF]
A new species, Chordodes colchis, is described from several locations in Georgia. The species resembles some other Chorodes species, especially C. anthophorus, which has also been described from Georgia, but differs in conspicuous details. The new species possesses prominent thorn areoles, which were not described in C. anthophorus.

LIFE CYCLE AND PARATENESIS OF AMERICAN GORDIIDS (NEMATOMORPHA: GORDIIDA)
To complete their life cycle, gordiids must make a transition from aquatic to terrestrial environments. However, epibenthic aquatic larvae and their terrestrial definitive hosts do not overlap in habitat. This has led many investigators to suggest that infections are acquired through the ingestion of insects, which become infected as aquatic larvae ...
