Mortality in Salmon (Salmo salar) Fry Related to Lipoid Liver Disease Induced by Unbalanced Fatty Acid Composition of the Diet

open access: yesJournal of Fish Diseases, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT In 2023, all but one Swedish restocking farm rearing Baltic salmon and sea trout fry experienced massive mortality caused by lipoid liver disease (LLD). The struck farms used the same feed, and this was suspected to be the cause of the outbreak.

Postprocessing of convection permitting precipitation forecast using UNets

open access: yesEcological Informatics
Reliable precipitation forecasting is crucial in sectors like public safety, agriculture and water management. Although Numerical Weather Prediction (NWP) models form the backbone of modern forecasting, their inherent limitations and the chaotic behavior

A continuous‐time random encounter and staying time (REST) model: Moving beyond temporal aggregation in camera‐trap density estimation

open access: yesMethods in Ecology and Evolution, Volume 17, Issue 8, Page 2424-2435, August 2026.
Abstract Estimating wildlife population density is fundamental to ecology and conservation. While camera traps have revolutionized the monitoring of medium‐ to large‐sized mammals, estimating the density of unmarked populations remains a major challenge. Current models rely on a critical and often‐violated synchronized activity assumption.

Roles of an Ag Interlayer in Stabilizing the Li Stripping Reactions at the Lithium/Lithium Phosphorus Oxynitride Interface

open access: yesSmall Structures, Volume 7, Issue 7, July 2026.
Li stripping reaction on solid electrolyte causes void around interface, triggering short circuit in all‐solid‐state batteries. Here, Li stripping reactions of thickness‐controlled Li–Ag multilayers on lithium phosphorus oxynitride (LiPON) are investigated using electrochemical measurements and phase‐field calculations.

Vulgar Minimisers in English and Spanish1

open access: yesTransactions of the Philological Society, Volume 124, Issue 2, Page 291-313, July 2026.
Abstract In this paper, we investigated whether vulgar minimisers form a natural class in English and Spanish by evaluating (i) their similarities and differences with respect to non‐vulgar minimisers and (ii) whether vulgar minimisers are inherently negative in these languages.
