Accurate and efficient GPU ray‐casting algorithm for volume rendering of unstructured grid data

open access: yesETRI Journal, 2020
We present a novel GPU‐based ray‐casting algorithm for volume rendering of unstructured grid data. Our volume rendering system uses a ray‐casting method that guarantees accurate rendering results. We also employ the per‐pixel intersection list concept in

A GPU Implementation for Two-Dimensional Shallow Water Modeling [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
In this paper, we present a GPU implementation of a two-dimensional shallow water model. Water simulations are useful for modeling floods, river/reservoir behavior, and dam break scenarios.

Optoelectronic Synaptic Devices Using Molecular Telluride Phase‐Change Inks for Three‐Factor Learning

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Optoelectronic synaptic devices based on solution‐processed molecular telluride GST‐225 phase‐change inks are demonstrated for three‐factor learning. A global optical signal broadcast through a silicon waveguide induces non‐volatile conductance updates exclusively in locally electrically flagged memristors.

Atomic Layer Deposition in Transistors and Monolithic 3D Integration

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Transistors are fundamental building blocks of modern electronics. This review summarizes recent progress in atomic layer deposition (ALD) for the synthesis of two‐dimensional (2D) metal oxides and transition‐metal dichalcogenides (TMDCs), with particular emphasis on their enabling role in monolithic three‐dimensional (M3D) integration for next ...

Graphene Nanosheet‐Based Mixed Proton‐Electron Conducting Membranes for Efficient Hydrogen Purification

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A monolayer graphene/phosphoric‐acid mixed proton‐electron conducting membrane combines proton‐conducting nanoconfined acid channels with electron‐conducting graphene nanosheets for efficient high‐temperature hydrogen purification. The membrane achieves nearly 100% H2/CO2 selectivity and 69 GPU hydrogen permeance at 250°C, arising from synergistic ...

LEAD: Literature Enhanced Ab Initio Discovery of Nitride Dusting Layers for Enhanced Tunnel Magnetoresistance and Lower Resistance Magnetic Tunnel Junctions

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Magnetic tunnel junctions (MTJs) using MgO tunnel barriers face challenges of high resistance‐area product and low tunnel magnetoresistance (TMR). To discover alternative materials, Literature Enhanced Ab initio Discovery (LEAD) is developed. The LEAD‐predicted materials are theoretically evaluated, showing that MTJs with dusting of ScN or TiN on ...
