Accelerating advanced MRI reconstructions on GPUs [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Parallel and Distributed Computing, 2008
Computational acceleration on graphics processing units (GPUs) can make advanced magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) reconstruction algorithms attractive in clinical settings, thereby improving the quality of MR images across a broad spectrum of applications. This paper describes the acceleration of such an algorithm on NVIDIA's Quadro FX 5600.

SAR Target CFAR Detection Via GPU Parallel Operation

open access: yesIEEE Journal of Selected Topics in Applied Earth Observations and Remote Sensing, 2018
The constant false alarm rate with convolution and pooling (CP-CFAR) method, which can improve the detection efficiency via GPU parallel acceleration in the airborne synthetic aperture radar (SAR) images, is proposed in this paper.

Acceleration-as-a-Service: Exploiting Virtualised GPUs for a Financial Application [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
'How can GPU acceleration be obtained as a service in a cluster?' This question has become increasingly significant due to the inefficiency of installing GPUs on all nodes of a cluster.

GPU Accelerated RNA Folding Algorithm [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
In this chapter, we present an implementation of the main kernel in the widely used RNA folding package Unafold. Its key computation is a dynamic programming algorithm with complex dependency patterns, making it an a priori bad match for GPU computing.

GPU accelerated particle visualization with Splotch [PDF]

open access: yesAstronomy and Computing, 2014
Splotch is a rendering algorithm for exploration and visual discovery in particle-based datasets coming from astronomical observations or numerical simulations. The strengths of the approach are production of high quality imagery and support for very large-scale datasets through an effective mix of the OpenMP and MPI parallel programming paradigms ...

Computationally Efficient Neural Rendering for Generator Adversarial Networks Using a Multi-GPU Cluster in a Cloud Environment

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2023
Due to its fantastic performance in the quality of the images created, Generator Adversarial Networks have recently become a viable option for image reconstruction. The main problem with employing GAN is how expensive the computations are.
